My gardens range from small town spaces to larger country gardens and I work with clients all over from Cheshire, Manchester, Liverpool, Staffordshire, Derbyshire, North Wales and beyond. Although I don't build gardens any more, I work closely with excellent contractors and offer a project management service to oversee a project from start to finish making sure the design is realised as intended.

I am thrilled to announce that .studio has been shortlisted for two awards and this years awards!

Our modern zen inspired Knutsford garden has been selected for the Design £50-£100k and our sleek, minimalist garden in Bowden has been selected for Design £100-£250k award.

We are so privileged to be able to work on such projects with amazing clients and are truly grateful when our hard work receives such recognition.

To make a garden unique can be difficult when you have a limited palette of garden rooms, louvred pergolas and outdoor kitchens. Much of which can be uninspiring and generic, especially when it comes to garden rooms.

In our Hartford garden we recognised that something more tailored was required to elevate what could be a bit of an awkward space. A U-shaped plan and a brief that included a reasonable lawned area, a large garden room which would function as a gym and two terraces for relaxing and entertaining. The challenge came in the when attempting to make each item or area feel connected and cohesive.

By creating a bespoke building that echoed the form of the orangery and using the same material and tones in the pergola and the kitchen island, we were able to limit the colour palette. This helped to link these elements that were not always in eye shot of each other, but woven using a fabric of planting and clay pavers.

A massive thank you to for an amazing couple of days in the Netherlands. I had a thoroughly enjoyable time exploring the factories and showrooms and our group of talented designers and contractors were an absolute pleasure.

Our latest project off the production line has been a really interesting challenge. Half roof garden - half ground level and heavily shaded by the house and mature trees behind. The lack of light, space and opportunity for planting inspired the idea of creating extensive living walls, making use of every inch of space.

The podium garden is made for entertaining with a striking metal rill dividing two rooms including and outdoor living room, a kitchen and pergola covered dining area.

Our client is in the digital media space and floated the idea of using LED panels, which we loved. A series of bars will project abstract, atmospheric images that reflect in the water and are silhouetted by foliage. The feature works both visually and as ambient lighting.

The lower garden is dedicated to creating a calmer and more relaxing zen environment, with dark moody tones and minimal fuss. A simple design to be enjoyed as much from the inside as it is from out.

The inside-out garden requires meticulous planning and one should build the house or extension with the intention from scratch, if you’re to achieve a truly seamless flow. It takes craftsman-like attention to detail to be really successful, especially when you have to work with corners and changes in fall direction as & have done here at our Whitefield project.
