The Importance of Servicing!
Got called out last week to a boiler that was leaking internally. Opened it up and found the heat exchanger leaking at the back. Turns out both condensation traps were completely blocked. Gave them a good clean, fired the boiler up, and thought I had it sorted… but nope.
A little while later, the leak returned. Took a closer look and found the heat exchanger insulation had completely disintegrated, there was a hole in the bottom, and the burner was in bad shape. At that point, the boiler was beyond saving—condemned and isolated with a danger sticker applied.
This just goes to show why regular boiler servicing is so important—it helps spot issues before they get this bad.
