We are pleased to announce a new member of our team at GNA.

Jomana joined us a few weeks ago following the completion of her 4-year Architecture course at the University of Leeds, achieving First Class Honours.

Originally from Egypt, she draws on the country’s rich architectural heritage to inform her interest in how history and culture can shape contemporary design. Since moving to the UK, Leeds has become a second home and a source of inspiration for her work.

Welcome to GNA Jomana!

We hope you enjoy working here and getting involved in our challenging projects!

We are delighted to find out that our Leeds Library project has got through to the final round of the Leeds Architecture Awards 2025.
It’s quite a low key job in that it’s a small and simple refurbishment of the existing commercial unit next door to the main Leeds Library building.

However, the impact has been great in that we’ve helped create valuable extra space for the library to grow into and improved the accessibility into and around the library - enabling everyone to see this remarkable space.

Sustainability was also an important goal with big thermal improvements made to the building fabric and low energy mechanical and electrical systems utilised throughout.

We are really happy with the impact of the altered frontage on Commercial Street. It was a really simple conversion, a pastiche echoing back to the original 200 year old building.

Passersby may not even be aware of the changes – it quietly sits there, between beautiful historic buildings, repairing the fabric of the streetscape. We are really pleased with that -architecture doesn’t always have to be new and shiny to make a difference.

We are pleased to be able to share the completion of our latest project for Landmark which entailed the full refurbishment of , the former home of BBC Radio 2.

Through this transformation, Wogan House not only respects its rich broadcasting heritage but also repositions itself as a forward-thinking workplace. It is beyond just a place of work, and has been designed to foster energy, creativity, and connection. The revitalised interiors encourage interaction, inspire innovation, and provide a welcoming atmosphere for both employees and visitors.

We are proud to announce the successful completion of our latest interior design fitout for Landmark at Wogan House, a historic building with a legacy as the UK base for the first trans-atlantic colour television satellite communications.

Our design ethos embraced "a comforting and simple aesthetic accentuated by colourful details and textures," honouring the building’s rich history whilst establishing a space that supports modern, flexible working.

A great effort by Neil Oxlee and Harry Beaumont and the wider project Team. Charlotte Stewart Paul Mulryan

Great to see the progress on site at Dakin Fathers earlier in the week.

We’ve been really impressed with all at Sutcliffe Construction - both office based and on site. Their technical input into the design off site and careful co-ordination of the work on site has resulted in a high quality installation of the groundworks and frame so far.
Which is even more impressive given the terribly wet weather we’ve been having over the last few months!

Looking forward to seeing the building through to completion and hopefully we’ll get some warmth and sun for the rest of the job!

Pleased to say that we've gained Planning and Listed Building Consent for our proposals for 15 Commercial Street in Leeds City Centre for The Leeds Library who are based next door.

The building will house a retail unit at ground floor together with a new disabled access for the Library. On the upper levels there will be new Library areas linked to the existing library including an events space, reading room and extra toilet facilities - the first expansion of the library in 200 years.

The alterations have also given us an opportunity to repair the streetscape with a more sympathetic treatment to the front elevation sitting between the listed buildings in the block.

Interesting hour for Jessica & Melissa presenting our initial ideas to the membership of The Leeds Library in the city centre. The presentation taking place in their fabulous New Room (only 150 years old!) - what a space! Looking forward to receiving the members' feedback and pushing the scheme for their new building onward to be ready for a planning application.
