Do you live in a flat? Own or rent out a flat? Does the door use an older mortise lock that uses a traditional key? Convert it to a safer and more convenient euro thumb turn lock. You will no longer need a key to lock/exit the property when inside. No frantically looking for keys when there's a knock at the door or an emergency. No locking your flatmate out when you accidentally leave a key in the back of the door. Comply with fire regulations and other H&S laws if you are a landlord. Need the service then give us a call.

Sorry if you have been one of the customers that cannot get hold of me. Since Monday there has been no access to emails, and the website has been offline. I am currently being held to ransom by a company wanting to take control of all my marketing. Well after loosing almost a week of trade I don't think that they will be getting the gig! The issue is being worked on and will hopefully be resolved soon. Telephone lines are still working, if there is no answer just leave a message. As you can imagine with no emails, the phone lines are rather busy!

🚨 Warning: In January, we received almost 30 reports of rogue locksmiths overcharging for emergency lockouts. Victims not only face hefty financial losses but also report feeling vulnerable and distressed after the experience.

Some individuals were charged over £1,000 for a simple lockout, with one shocking case at £1,800! 😱 Many were initially quoted £49-89 for a callout, only to be hit with a much higher final bill.

Reports have come in from areas including Maidstone, London, Aylesbury, Rickmansworth, Coulsdon, Banbury, Sutton, Fareham, Hemel Hempstead, Wickham, Barrow-In-Furness, Bedford, Bristol, Edinburgh, Surrey, Dunfermline, Kent, and Orpington.

Always Verify Your Locksmith

A recent complaint has brought attention to a widespread scam affecting residents in the London Borough of Camden. In this scam, fraudulent locksmiths place stickers on apartment intercoms and letterboxes, making residents believe that the locksmith advertised is the building's approved professional. One resident shared their experience of feeling pressured and uncomfortable after calling a locksmith in an emergency lockout, only to later realise they had been misled.

To protect yourself:

πŸ” Always verify the locksmith advertised on stickers
πŸ” If the locksmith is not authorised by your building management company, ask them for permission to remove the sticker immediately
πŸ” Find your local MLA Approved Locksmith at https://www.locksmiths.co.uk
πŸ” Save the contact number to your phone for emergencies

By taking these steps, you can help ensure that you're not targeted by scams. Stay vigilant and always confirm the legitimacy of service providers!

'You get what you pay for' as the saying goes. When you get quotes for work it's important to find out why there is a difference in price. As you can see here, the cheapest is not always the best. This is an external door at the rear of a business premises. Rear doors tend to be more secluded allowing thieves more time to gain entry, as you can see in the photos this door is not of a solid construction, so it took thieves a matter of seconds to break through and gain entry. Had the door been of better quality the outcome could have been very different.
