Do you ever sit quietly and watch the Bee’s ? They are amazing to watch as they collect the nectar from flowers 🌺 if you zoom in close you can see the pollen on their legs and their wigs. I find it calming and it makes me appreciate the natural world.

Doors open and close In gardening all of the time, jobs can end without much notice, one door closed for me recently, a job that I did for 3 years and I loved it. Then this new opportunity arrived a few days later, another garden with a wood. In this garden I am improving the soil, a few weeks ago I found these large compost heaps full of leaf mould, ‘ Gardeners Gold ‘ and now I am mulching where I can to improve the boarders. I am also creating habitats for wildlife, amongst the ferns and rocks.

Thank you to all the people who believe in me and give me these opportunities, it has not been easy this year.

I have always wanted to learn more about floral arrangements, I grow a lot of flowers in my garden. I really enjoyed this workshop I attended last Saturday after Wild Meadow Floristry. It was a fantastic afternoon, learning a new skill Cheryl is a highly skilled florist & a good teacher.

I am looking forward to attending more of her workshops in the future, I am also now thinking of including a floral posy / arrangement as part of my garden design for The Belvoir Castle Garden show.

I was at one of my favourite gardens in Leicestershire Rothley Wine Estate. I have been working in this garden for 4 years, it is a beautiful place to work. Today I was working on this large boarder, some of it had a lot of w**ds, sticky w**d and bind w**d, they needed clearing as they were choking the plants 🌱 I also edged the lawn to find the brick boarder, which goes around the whole boarder.

I have been given the most amazing opportunity to do my very first border ( show garden ) The Belvoir Castle Garden show . Earlier this year I also lost a very close friend to terminal cancer, so I am using this opportunity to fundraise for LOROS Hospice where my friend was at the end of her life. I know she would appreciate this, Anna loved being outside especially in her garden, physical elements of her garden have been incorporated into my design. The show is open to the public on the 11th & 12th of July and I think early bird tickets are still available on Belvoir Castles website.

Amazing, the roses are looking beautiful.

Only 8 weeks to go until The Belvoir Castle Garden show, feeling excited that I have this amazing opportunity to create my very 1st show boarder garden in this beautiful setting.

This is I garden I designed for BBC Gardeners' World Live, my design was not chosen, however I have the opportunity to create and build the winning design with my college mates Derby College, this year. It is a part of the course I am currently studying, I am also involved with designing a Japanese garden for Cascades House and Gardens Derbyshire and other doors and opportunities are opening. It looks like I’ll be having a busy summer.
