A garden with an Oriental feel. Design brief was to create a part of the garden that is lower maintenance, with an Oriental theme. Beautiful linear sawn Sandstone paving, large feature stones including a stepping stone path, multiple water features, topiary plants, a pergola and limestone chip.

I didnt get around to sharing this pond and patio build back in 2021, the pond evolved throughout the build. Its now a well established, stocked with a large variety of Koi. There was some challenges with this build, the bridge concept had to be removed and the liner paint needed a long period to dry. But the pond and patio transformed garden, a perfect place to sit and relax

Koi pond build 🐟
The client moved property and needed a new pond for their beautiful Koi. The block work construction was done by a local builder with us advising on layout and specifications. The pond was then fiberglassed and finished with a black top coat. The window was supplied by Melton Glass. Other specs include, EZ Pond Storm aerated bottom drain into a Evolution Aqua Nexus 220 filter with automatic flush out then through an Evolution Aqua UV. A Side mounted skimmer into a Evolution Aqua Tempest fine filter then returned via stainless steel water blade.

This garden was completed at the end of 2023, the Clients sent me some updated photos of how the garden has matured. The porcelain paving giving a bright and hard wearing finish. Oak timber of the pergola and the sleepers weathering naturally to a silver grey. Adding different levels removed the slope, creating areas within the garden.

Re-using block paving, laid to draw the eye to the water well feature. Raj blend paving individually selected to reduce color variation. Lift pump installed in water well to help with watering. Greenhouse kit, shed and raised bed built.

A complete overhaul of a large walled garden. Making the beds bigger and deeper, removing the rotting sleepers and building longer lasting brick retaining walls. Finished with sandstone golden fossil paving. Also included a unique experience of building an outdoor enclosure for a pet tortoise!

A local Restaurant asked for some new planting ready for the grand opening. The galvanised planters are from Rutland Garden Classics. Plants from Rutland Water Garden Nursery and Rutland Garden Village. The wall baskets were built by myself. Glad to be able to support local business.
