"What's the difference between compost and soil conditioner?" 🤔
It's one of the questions we get asked most often.
The easiest way to think about it is this:
🌱 Compost is for your plants.
🌱 Soil conditioner is for your soil.
If you're planting something new, filling pots, or giving your beds and borders a boost, you'll want compost.
If your soil is heavy, sticky clay, dries out too quickly, or just isn't great to work with, soil conditioner can help improve it over time.
Do you need both?
Often, yes.
A lot of gardeners will add soil conditioner to improve the ground first, then add compost when planting.
Think of it like this:
🏡 Soil conditioner improves the house.
🌿 Compost feeds the people living in it.
