I have been successful and well regarded in the Roofing trade to over 35 years with a loyal customer base (small family business). I have also renovated 3 houses so have a very good spectrum of DIY / Trade skill. I cannot stay up a roof until I'm 80 as it's very demanding physically. One of the many shed roofs I have replaced over the years. Much better to use heavy grade polyester reinforced Torch-on type felts(as used on houses and commercial buildings) than cheap thin felts bought from DIY chains. Life span typical increases from 2 years 20 years and over!

This is just a very small snapshot of some of my work, Solar panel bird protection and plastic Dry verge. I spent over successful 35 years in the roofing trade where I ran a well respected small family business called Bentley roofing.
