The boiler looks fine from the outside, but on closer inspection, the main heat exchanger gasket had all but burnt through and the ionisation probe has shot it. A few more months and the gasket could have failed, shooting flames out the side of the heat exchanger and you’d be potentially be looking at a new boiler.
All replaced and serviced ready for the winter.
This is why it’s important to get your boiler serviced properly every year.

Attended a boiler breakdown. Yet again the boiler had not been serviced properly and the boiler had caught fire due to a gasket not being replaced. Customer went for a brand new Ideal Vogue Max, fitted with magnetic filter, scale reducer and mini expansion unit offering 12 years parts and labour manufactures warranty.
