My customer will be putting the property up for sale, but the garden was overgrown and cluttered. If it can't be turned into a thing of beauty, the golden rule, is that the appearance mustn't be so bad that it puts off prospective buyers.

πŸ”₯ BONFIRES πŸ”₯ WHAT'S THE LAW❓πŸ”₯

There are no specific laws, or local bylaws that ban bonfires or dictate when they can be lit‼️

However, there are regulations that can apply to a bonfire, such as;

❌ Environmental Protection Act 1990. A council could issue an Abatement Notice If the bonfire causes a "statutory nuisance". For a fire to be considered a nuisance, it usually needs to occur regularly and substantially interfere with a person's enjoyment of their property.

❌ It is an offence to burn household waste if it causes pollution or harms health.

❌ Under The Highways Act 1980, it is an offence to allow smoke from a fire to drift across a road if it endangers traffic.

❌ It is illegal, under the Clean Air Act 1993, to emit dark smoke from any residential premises

I spent 2 days on this garden project in Thurnby. 🏑 Most of that time was spent cutting back overgrowth, weeding, trimming, mowing the lawn & preparing areas to develop. At the same time I also wanted to make certain areas of the garden, especially the front & the lawn, more presentable immediately and pleasing for my customers*

The next stage will be to develop the garden - clear borders of weeds and nonflowering spring flowers. There are 4 borders around the lawn with ample space for new plants to go alongside existing ones. Improve the quality of the soil & lawn. Prepare area for fruit & veg πŸπŸ‡πŸ“πŸ₯•πŸ₯¦

* A special word about my customers.

I'm always looked after by customers on every garden I do. I never expect anything, but a cup of tea is always most welcome. In this case, Gordon took care of that, with his own special Indian Tea β˜• And plenty of Indian snacks to take away πŸ§†πŸ₯™πŸ«“...although I ate them all driving home πŸ˜‚

It was so pleasing as well, to work with the family, understanding what they wanted and, most of all, to see happiness in their faces as the garden began to take shape. That's priceless for me, and makes all the planning and hard graft worth it.πŸ’š
