🎄… AND THAT’S A WRAP 🎄

What a year we have had!!

Danny has worked tirelessly throughout, and has definitely earned some time off.

DRF Joinery is now closed for the holidays, aiming to be back in action on Tuesday 7 January 2025!

We would love to say a massive thank you to all our customers for coming our way! We’ve enjoyed all of your projects and are hugely thankful for the support you show in our peerie family business.

We’d also like to extend a massive thank you to everyone who has helped out or worked along side us this year. We appreciate you all!

We look forward to hearing about new projects and working alongside existing clients next year!

I (Anne) will be heading back to a day job in the New Year. This means response times may be a little longer/dealt with in evenings etc. It also means Danny will be taking Mondays off, (where applicable) to look after the littleuns, for some of the year! We will still endeavour to support you all/answer queries and deliver project’s to the best of our abilities!

For now, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from Danny, Anne, and the peerie people we do it all for. 🥰🎄☃️

Our first and biggest project of the year. A two storey extension, which was completed in various stages throughout the year. Firstly up to external wind a watertight stage, secondly onto upstairs internals + bathroom fitting, thirdly to the creation of a new window (i.e breaking through existing external wall to create a new opening for a window to be fitted) on the gable end, and lastly to downstairs internals + kitchen/utility and bathroom fitting.

It was a tough start with the big snow hitting in January, just as Danny was getting started. He didn't let it phase him though, and he "ploughed" through regardless.

He worked tirelessly on the external works, impressively having it completed to wind and watertight stage by the end of March.

He then returned to work on the upstairs internals, which involved breaking through from the existing property, new partitions, plumbing, electrics, insulation, plaster boarding, and fitting of a new bathroom.

In August he returned once more to complete the breakthrough of a window space in the gable end of the property, and fitting of a window in a bedroom.

Lastly, and most recently, he returned to complete the downstairs internals, which saw him, again, break through from the existing property, insulate, partition, plasterboard, and fit a new kitchen/utility and small bathroom.

We were very proud to complete this job recently.

We would like to express a huge thank you to our customers, who waited for us to start back up again to complete their job.

We would also like to extend a thank you to: Magnus Laurenson for sorting the foundations and block works; Danny Moncrieff for helping lift the trusses by hand/fitting same and helping to sheet the roof; Magnus Fullerton for his plumbing work; to our customers' son for doing the electrics; William More Painter & Decorator for his expertise; and again Michael Farmer for working along side Danny on the roof tiling, fitting of windows and patio door in the extension, internals and window creation to gable end.

A recent project completed for returning customers. We were absolutely delighted to be asked back to do this project, especially with a very exciting deadline to aim for.

This job required Danny to gut out pre-existing interiors, and remove partition walls, to create a large open plan entrance/kitchen/living area fit for a growing family.

The older part of the building also required to be stripped back and reconfigured, creating a utility room where the old kitchen used to be.

There were clear signs of damp in the bathroom, and after initial investigations failed to establish the water ingress point, the roof tiles were stripped back until the puzzle was solved and the problem could be rectified. Floor joists and wall plates were also affected by the water ingress, and required to be replaced and remedied.

Insulation was installed throughout, before plaster boarding and fitting of a bathroom, utility room and stunning kitchen were carried out.

New doors were fitted throughout together with finishings, and flooring was laid in each room.

Windows were also reglazed, together with roof vent installations.

We would like to thank MEB for carrying out the electrical works, G Gillie Plumbing & Heating for the plumbing works, William More Painter & Decorator for the painting and decorating, and finally Michael Farmer, for working alongside Danny on this project, and being the brains and braun behind the damp issue remedies.

Dear Customers

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the diary for DRF Joinery Ltd is currently closed for the rest of 2023.

We are hopeful to be back up and running come the New Year (2024).

If you have any project queries for then, please let us know and we will endeavour to arrange advice/works going forward from then.

Our latest project recently completed, from start to finish.

Upon starting this job, Danny discovered the floor joists were merely sitting on old boulders, he therefore had to remove the whole floor, dig out, run new concrete to support the joists and reinstate the floors.

The project required two rooms to be ripped back to the stone, before two new rooms and a bathroom were reinstated: this included new partitions, insulation, plaster boarding, bathroom installation, reglazing of windows and woodwork.

Taping, filling, painting and final finishings were completed by Shetland Painters. Thank you guys for your hard work.

Our clients have let us know that they are very happy with the work completed, and we are delighted to have delivered their vision.
