Unfortunately the cafe is close for today, we will be open for a short while today - likely until 3pm if anyone wishes to pop in.

We're having to spend this weekend acting on serious matters brought to our attention as of yesterday.

We look forward to returning to normality shortly!

An update from Daniel...👋
​Gutted to be posting this, but we will be closed today.
​It’s the reality of a two-man team, if one of us goes down, we both do.

After Karl was ill recently, I’ve now come down with a bug that’s causing some sharp chest pains and mobility issues. Oh what fun! Yesterday was spent resting with the hope of being over it today, but in all honesty I’m just not fit for it yet.

Whilst today is an improvement from yesterday, health always comes first. ​Plus being that we deal with the public we have to make the conscious decision to prevent the spread where we can! We'll be resting up so tomorrow we can hopefully return with full strength.

Thanks for all the support and patience, it really does make a difference 💚 Here's hoping tomorrow is significantly better🤞

​Just a weird blend of ill, relieved, and excitement.

​Things have been very interesting lately with everything we’ve been navigating behind the scenes. It’s funny how the brain works; you push through the high-pressure stretches on sheer momentum, but the moment that burden of stress finally starts to fade, your system feels safe enough to down tools and catch up with itself.

​It seems the relief of pushing through has finally caught up with us in the form of a bug🙃 so we're taking today as our last little pause point. We are currently shifting gears in our progression, and with the next chapter looking so busy, we need to recalibrate now so we can hit the ground running 🏃‍♂️⭐️

​Thank you everyone for supporting our journey this far—we truly wouldn't be here without you 💕 After 25 years of trade, we’re firmly looking ahead to the next 25. We’re so sorry if this has caused an inconvenience for your weekend plans.

​We should be back open tomorrow as usual. See you then for a coffee and a wander round the site! 🌿☕

Have you seen what we have been up to?
In the cake cabinet is a beautifully made Pistachio & Rose Cake made with a raspberry compote & white chocolate praline! Our Luxury Teacakes are currently on their first proof, with one left available at the moment - they’ll be ready later this afternoon!

For our drinks lineup, the seasons here and so are our specialty drinks 🍹
• Strawberry, Black Pepper & Tarragon
• Nojito
• Rhubarb, Orange & Vanilla

🔴 The Crimson Rhizome ~ ”The Alchemist’s Brew”

Crafted with a bi-phasic extraction that prioritises biological activity over simple flavour! Whilst most commercial syrups are mass-boiled and gimmicky, this is a functional concentrate comprised of:
Ginger, Turmeric, dried Hibiscus petals, Active Manuka Honey, and a botanical blend of Sumac, Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Cardamom, Star Anise, Black Pepper & Vanilla Bean.

Whilst we can’t make medical claims, each ingredient has been chosen with reference to scientific literature, balancing purposeful inclusion with a flavour profile you’ll actually want to drink!

A huge thank you to everyone who shared their Easter Sunday with us 🌼🏵 The cafe was a proper hive of activity!

Our Simnel Cake and Frangipane have officially done a disappearing act – clearly, they were the stars of the show! 🪄 ​But as one door closes, the garden gate opens.

Today’s highlights are all about those fresh, zingy British flavours:
​✨ New Today: Our Rhubarb & Strawberry Crumble. It’s that perfect balance of sweet and sharp that just tastes like Spring.
✨ Coming Up: A light, velvety Spring Onion Soup—ideal for those "four seasons in one day" British afternoons.

Deep, rich and properly moist with a bold citrus hit. Finished with smooth orange icing, candied blood orange slices, and a hit of fresh zest.
Naturally gluten-free - no compromise on texture or flavour.
