From tired to tidy 🔧✨

Before ➡️ After radiator replacement
We swapped out an old pink-painted radiator for a fresh white one that not only looks better but is far more efficient 🔥

Because the old radiator was an odd size, we used radiator extensions so the pipework could run straight down — clean and professional 👌
The old TRV was leaking too, so we fitted all new valves for peace of mind.

Unfortunately, we couldn’t do anything about the stain left behind from the leak, but everything else is now sorted and working perfectly ✅

Attended a call-out for a leaking flexible hose to the expansion vessel. The faulty hose was removed and upgraded to a solid, permanent solution by hard-piping from the combination valve directly to the expansion vessel 💪🔧

Out with the old, in with the new 🔧🔥

Replaced an old Potterton C50/15 heat-only boiler running gravity hot water and a bit of a one-pipe mystery system with a Baxi 818 System2.

Customer is elderly and didn’t want the fuss of major works, pipe alterations or future headaches – so instead of forcing a full system overhaul, I chose what I genuinely felt was the best solution for their needs 👌

To keep the boiler warranty intact without powerflushing an old, tired system, I fitted a plate heat exchanger. Sounds crazy to some… but sometimes experience tells you what’s right for the customer, not just the textbook 📘

The original system had no controls at all, so these were added along with a new pump, converting it to a fully pumped setup (while still working with the existing gravity layout). End result?
👉 Operates like a much newer system
👉 Minimal disruption
👉 Future-proofed as much as possible

🔥 Boiler Upgrade Complete 🔥

Straight swap completed from a Worcester 30i system to a Worcester 8000 30kW system boiler.

We opted for a like-for-like replacement on this job due to the existing roof slate not being fitted correctly — upgrading further would’ve meant new tiles and reworking a section of the roof, which wasn’t ideal under the time restrictions.

Nothing too fancy on this one, but sometimes the right decision is the sensible one 👍

If the second boiler ever comes out of service, I’d love to work with the customer again and upgrade the system to run efficiently from a single boiler. With the right controls and some tweaks to the pipework in the boiler room, the 8000 could comfortably run the entire system — and at less cost than installing another boiler just to serve half the property.

Efficiency is all in the design 👌

Big thanks to for sending over their heating chemicals and giving me the opportunity to try out their products 👏🔥

First run with the cleaner didn’t disappoint but didn’t show massive results, but that’s mainly because the system was already in pretty good condition to begin with. That said, the chemicals did exactly what I expected them to do and get the job got done 👍

Unfortunately I didn’t manage to get any photos this time as I wasn’t feeling great and just needed to get the work completed.

On the inhibitor side, I’ll be heading back to test the water quality using their Molybdate Test Strips (which I need to get ordered).

Looking forward to trying these products on a bad system to really put them to the test 💪 I’ll be sure to get plenty of evidence and results next time.

Job Description:
Called out to a heating system that has been playing up and diagnosed the issue that was to change a 3-port valve head — should’ve been a simple straight swap, but once I opened the wiring center, I was greeted by a maze of choc blocks and tangled wires! 😅

Gave it a tidy-up with connectors and made sure the system was wired safely and neatly before testing. Everything now working perfectly and looking a lot cleaner! 👌

Ultimately I would of liked to replace the box aswell with a wago wiring center but some times it’s just not viable when trying to keep costs down for customers

🔥 Boiler Service Success! 🔥

When I arrived for this boiler service, the readings were miles out — carbon monoxide (CO) levels were way too high and combustion was all over the place. After checking everything over, it turned out the gas valve needed adjusting.

Once the adjustment was made, the difference was night and day 👇
📉 CO dropped from a lot worse than 440 PPM to just 37 PPM (pulled the analyser out before it got alot worse)
📈 CO₂ and efficiency both right where they should be
💨 Safe, efficient, and burning clean again!
