This summer has been hard on the borders. It has been a good research opportunity to see which plants do, and which don’t! V bobs (Verbena bonariensis), Gaura and Dierama have done well in this gravel garden, and are a lovely tall and airy combo.

I thought I’d share a garden masterplan (pic 1) where we have edited around an existing design (by others a while back) and completed the scheme for the client (see pic 2 for the whole view). Working with garden buildings all at different angles also presents a design challenge but nothing is impossible! Two unique design styles feature here, but we will make the garden cohesive using careful edits of the original design and through planting.

Today totalled 8 on 2 short wanders! Spotty Spots, Pyramidal, < Butterfly, Bee, Chalk Fragrant, Man, Common Twayblades, White Helleborines! We are lucky in Surrey. So many on the doorstep. I don’t think I’ll ever get enough of them. And still so many more to find!
