🏡 Cottage build update, near Liskeard
It’s always rewarding to visit a project in progress — to see the drawings and ideas slowly becoming something real.
This 250-year-old cottage in Crow’s Nest is a wonderful example of old meeting new. We’ve kept the beautiful natural stone walls and oak beams while introducing the light, comfort and flow of modern living.
During the build, we've uncovered a few hidden challenges — damp issues and a section of the cottage that had been poorly rebuilt back in the 1940s.
It’s been important for us to approach these issues with real care — underpinning the structure where needed and laying a new floor slab to secure its future.
What stands out most is the craftsmanship on show. The stonework in particular is exceptional, and it’s been inspiring to see the passion of everyone involved in bringing this cottage back to life.
Projects like this remind us why we love what we do — creating spaces that respect the past while embracing the present.
