It’s all in the detail. I absolutely love how these Tier Wall Lights blend in but also stand out as a design feature. And the light these cast is subtle but effective. We have been specifying Hunza lighting for over 20 years now, with impressive reliability.

Spring is springing 🌼🌸🌺

We visited this garden which we designed and Paul Baker -Holland Landscapes back in 2023. The client is doing and amazing job of maintaining the plants and don’t you just love the pop of colour against the black wall 🤩

🌞 Is your garden ready for another scorching summer?

If your lawn usually ends up looking like a dry, brown desert… you’re not alone.
One of our clients felt exactly the same—until she decided it was time for a change.

✨ The transformation?

A beautifully designed gravel garden that thrives in heat, drought, and everything in between. What was once a tired, uninspiring space is now bursting with colour, texture, movement, and wildlife.

No more constant watering. No more disappointment. Just a garden that works with nature, not against it.

Curious how it all came together (and what it looked like before)?

Throwback Thursday to a garden we designed almost a decade ago. Very soon after the studio opened in fact.

Apologies for the picture quality, fortunately mobile phone photography has advanced a bit since then....

This terrace is just one element of a large garden and driveway project. It was designed to add the finishing touches to a magnificent new build home near Brightlingsea.

You can see that there were challenges to overcome with the changing levels, but oh my goodness, just look at that view!

Once built, the terrace was enveloped in gorgeous informal planting to help embed it into the landscape and create a wonderful ambience for outdoor entertaining, relaxing, and just being immersed in nature.

The natural sandstone paving complements the colours of materials used to construct the property. If we were designing it today, we might consider using a natural limestone, but that curve and those planting beds would definitely have to stay.

Which elements of this design most appeal to you?

She’s done it! 🎉

We are absolutely delighted to share that Katie has successfully completed the rigorous accreditation process with the Society of Landscape and Garden Designers and is now a fully registered member.

This is no small achievement. The Society holds exceptionally high standards, and Katie’s work has been carefully assessed by a panel of experts. From initial survey through to construction and final completion, every stage of her design process was scrutinised for professional excellence and depth of understanding.
Unsurprisingly, Katie excelled throughout.

We couldn’t be prouder to see her recognised in this way. Here’s what the Society website says about her:

Katie Moyes is an accomplished garden designer and horticulturist with fifteen years’ experience creating beautiful, characterful outdoor spaces. Her early practical training in Beth Chatto’s celebrated Essex garden shaped her deep understanding of plants and planting design, a foundation that continues to inform her work today.

As the lead designer at Tapestry Design Studios, Katie brings together creativity, technical skill, and a collaborative approach. She specialises in bespoke garden design for discerning homeowners across East Anglia and the South East, crafting gardens that reflect each client’s tastes, lifestyle, and personality. Every project is approached with genuine enthusiasm, ensuring that clients not only receive a design that meets the brief, but also enjoy the journey of creating it.

Katie’s work has been recognised with a Silver Gilt at the 2025 APL Awards, reflecting her commitment to quality and innovation. Her clients describe her as warm, attentive, and easy to work with, bringing calm confidence to every stage of the design process.

🎉A huge congratulations, Katie — an incredible and well-deserved achievement!

If you're thinking of redesigning your garden layout, or even refreshing the planting in one of your borders, you may be tempted to turn to Artificial Intelligence (AI) to create the design for you.

As an experiment, we asked AI to re-design Paul's garden and the results were - well - lets just say they were surprising.

Take a look at our blog to see what happened......
