Bit of a Garden makeover to kick the week off. Lots of weeds and brambles overtook the garden and a little bit of light pruning on the shrubs to improve their overall look in the garden.

This house is due to go in the market in the next 10-15 days and as you can see from the photographs of the garden was a little bit overgrown, Before and after pictures.

, we recently had a call off a new client to come and have a look at his private woodland, mainly planted with oak/silver/Birch Hawthornes/cherries with the odd willow and maples and ash trees, The site was on the borders of Worcestershire/Warwickshire, The moment we drove up to the Wood i knew exactly what was wrong, He was thinking it might be a drought issue, definitely doesn’t help with last summer and a very dry spring, But this wasn’t the case thousands of young ash trees dying from Ash dieback sad to see. This woodland area was spread out over six acres, and the main species being Ash ! With over 70% dead or dying,

If you have any concerns on the health of any of your Ash trees do not hesitate to give us a call and we can make a plan and recommendations, if you leave any ash trees in a back garden and it dies from Ash dieback you may struggle to find someone that was willing to climb them, ( Safety first ! ) we came across three or four cases like this when they were in a very bad and dangerous condition, ok if you can get a platform hoist to deal with the Trees, but not ideal to put any Climbers into dead or dying Trees, !

Fridays job removing a large dead willow, But leaving a short trunk for habitat such as Beatles and woodpeckers,

All large Timber cut into firewood and left at base of tree and Woodchips left on site to be used around Garden borders,

Nice, easy start to the week, first tree of the week, Norway Spruce, had a slight lean towards neighbours cottage and with two phone lines and some power lines to miss, So they decided it needed to come down, good job because it didn’t quite feel right when I was up there !, Second job of the day back towards Home and another Norway Spruce, but this one was dead, felled in one straight across the lawn with plenty of room to spare, last job removing some small trees growing over a neighbouring garden, to allow the local Thatcher to re-roof a small outbuilding,  Which will look stunning once completed,

Out pricing first thing today to giving advice on a private estate looking along its public right of ways that run through they estate. First tree today we came along was this ash, client is not wanting to remove any trees if possible and after pointing out the tree has the signs of ash dieback and lifting at the the rear of the root plate along with a large fracture running up the main trunk , it was decided that this ash tree would need to be removed specially as the foo07597 101114hin a few meters of the tree,

Large maple recently collapsed into small lake, tractor & winch to help get it out in sections, 32 inch’s at its base, didn’t help with the amount of silt in the lake & half the tree buried deep in the silt !. ( Not nice especially when chipping the branches let alone cut it up and stack the timber for the client );  Special thanks to Jonathan Cook for the hire of the forestry tractor & winch, 👌

Two large cherry tree reduced , Both trees had signs of decay in main folks but looked perfectly healthy, But with a footpath running directly underneath both trees it was decided by the client that they would like to keep both the trees by reducing them to stop them falling apart onto adjacent footpath and neighbouring garden. 

Both trees fall within Wychavon conservation area and had to be applied for before any work could be carried out,

All branch material was Wood-chipped and stock piled on site to be used as Garden mulch around the main gardens within they grounds.

Finally a dry sunny day. Working at the beautiful Stratford and Avon. With my old mate mark and his son will, supplying one tracked platform to reduce a tall thin laurel hedge that was wide and awkward.
