Landscaping works are underway at our Sandown Lane project - a new stepped terrace with limestone flags to be laid and the same pale bricks used for the extension with a simple metal railings powder coated to match the new metal doors.

Our proposals for this Grade II listed property consist of restorative works bringing back timber box sash windows and removing none original casements with associated internal works.

The building forms part of a group listing on Orford Street, built around 1850. Census records and directories list the occupations of the householders at the time as; shopkeepers, victuallers, joiners, musicians and artists.

By and large the residents of Orford Street earned their living not by commuting to Liverpool, but by ‘serving’ the wealthier inhabitants of the larger houses elsewhere in the village.
