Here is a lovely article in House & Garden on a beautiful cottage in the Cotswolds I had the pleasure of wiring.
The brief was to make all electrical accessories look as period as possible and where not we were to hide them.
Sockets and table lamp points were installed into the skirtings with paintable fronts. Switches on show are a modern BS stamped dolly switches mounted on hand made distempered wooden pattresses made by the designer Hilton.
Light fittings were made up on site and some converted by myself to suit the room they were to be installed.
I also installed Heatmiser smart heating controls which are hidden and remote sensors used in each room. Even the Aga could be switched on remotely so it was warm and ready to use on arrival.
This job was a joy to work on and the finished house and garden was perfect.
