That is it.

No wet trades. No pipework. No structural work. No waiting for screed to dry or a boiler to be commissioned. No radiator brackets on the walls.

The electrician arrives with the panels. Fits them into the ceiling. Runs a standard 230V circuit from the consumer unit. Wires in the controls. Tests it. Leaves.

By the end of the day the house has a completely new heating system and you barely noticed it happen.

I designed it this way on purpose. After years as an electrician I knew that complicated installations cause delays, cost overruns, and frustrated customers. Simple installations just work.

The PB-S-250 connects to standard mains. No transformer. No specialist kit. Standard electrical work by a qualified electrician.

Not cold enough to be a crisis. Just never quite right. A bit cooler than the rest. The room you avoid in January. The one where you always end up with a blanket regardless of what the thermostat says.

Most people have one. And most people have just accepted it as a feature of their house rather than a problem that can be fixed.

In almost every case it can be fixed.

The issue is usually not the amount of heat going into the room. It is the type of heat and where it ends up.

A PoweRad panel in the ceiling of that room changes the whole thing. Warms the surfaces directly. Independent of whatever the rest of the house is doing. On its own schedule.

The thing that makes the PB-S-250 different from every other infrared panel on the market.

Most infrared ceiling panels need a transformer. A separate piece of hardware that steps the voltage down before it reaches the panel. More kit. More cost. More things that can go wrong.

The PB-S-250 connects directly to your 230V mains supply. The same supply everything else in your home runs from. No transformer. No extra hardware.

What that means practically is that any qualified electrician can install it. No specialist knowledge. No additional gear. Standard electrical work.

It also means it can run from solar generation directly, from a battery, from the grid, from any combination. Whatever is in the circuit.

I spent a long time getting this right because I knew it mattered. A product that is complicated to install does not get installed. And a product that does not get installed does not help anyone stay warm.

Simple was always the goal.

If you have solar panels on your roof, read this.

You paid for those panels. The electricity they generate is yours. Free, from your roof, on every decent day.

But if your heating is gas, you are not really using that free electricity for the thing that costs you the most.

The PoweRad PB-S-250 runs on mains electricity. Which means it runs on solar electricity when that is what is coming through the circuit. No special setup. The panel does not care where the power comes from. It converts it to warmth.

Set your panels on a daytime schedule. Home office on from 8. Living room from midday. Kitchen warming up before you cook.

Quick one for any electricians reading this.

I am an electrician. I built PoweRad because I saw a gap in the market and I had the skills to fill it. Now I want to work with other electricians who want to do the same thing in their area.

Something I want to explain properly, because I do not think it gets said clearly enough.

Your heating is probably not broken. It is doing exactly what it was designed to do.

The problem is what it was designed to do.

It heats air. The air rises to the ceiling. You are not at the ceiling. So the warmth you are paying for goes somewhere you are not sitting.

That is why some rooms never feel right no matter how high you turn the thermostat. The mechanism is working against you, not for you.

Infrared does not heat the air. It warms the surfaces and the people in the room directly. The floor gets warm. The walls hold heat. You feel it from the moment you walk in.

I built PoweRad because I spent years as an electrician wiring homes and watching perfectly good heating systems fail to actually warm the people inside them.

The PB-S-250 sits in the ceiling, runs from your standard mains supply, and reaches full output in under 10 minutes. One panel per room. Silent. Nothing to service.

End of May. Start of something.

We started posting properly a few months ago. We were not sure how people would respond to a small Welsh heating company talking honestly about what it does, why it exists, and what it is trying to build.

The response has been better than we expected.

People want honest companies. They want to understand what they are buying and why it is different. They want to feel like the people behind the product actually care about getting it right for their home, not just closing a sale.

That is what we are trying to be.

We are going to keep posting through June and the summer. Less about the urgency of winter preparation, more about the product, the science, the installations, and the journey of building PoweRad from South Wales.

If you are here because of the heating content, thank you. If you are here because you are interested in what a small startup looks like trying to change an established industry, thank you for that too.

Both audiences matter to us.

May is done.

Last October you were cold in at least one room. You will be cold in that room again next October if nothing changes.

That is the simple version of why we are here.

Not to sell you something you do not need. To solve a problem that has been sitting in your home for years and that has a straightforward fix if you know about it.
