We can't wait to see this bridge lit up in an array of different colours and shining bright against dark skies in the coming months... 🌉🤩

Our Lighting Integration team have recently completed essential repairs to the decorative lighting at Meadow Lane foot and cycle bridge, part of the A52 Wyvern Transport Improvement Scheme in Derby.

The bridge features over 200 independently controlled colour-changing nodes across its arches, creating a vibrant and welcoming route for the community.

Great to help bring this important connection between Chaddesden and the Wyvern back to full functionality, with new colour schemes planned to reflect upcoming holidays and seasons.

This spiralling footbridge forms a key element of the wider A361 North Devon Link Road (NDLR) scheme, delivered by main contractor, Alun Griffiths (Contractors) Ltd.

We're proud to have illuminated this new structure, which will provide a safe crossing from Landkey village and serve the upcoming Westacott development.

We're thrilled to see this scheme moving forward at pace. We'll be installing IP67 rated handrail luminaires to both sides of the bridge and access ramps. Keep your eyes peeled for further updates in the coming months... 👀🌉

Lighting Integration was on-site last week at the Waterside Bridge project in Nottingham, checking cable transition locations as work progresses ⚡

Measuring 85 metres in length, the steel structure – the first new bridge over the River Trent for more than 60 years – will provide a new connection between the expanding Waterside regeneration area, Colwick Park and the Trent Basin to the north, and the Lady Bay/West Bridgford area and Trent Fields on the south bank.

This will deliver a safe, traffic-free route for cyclists and pedestrians while avoiding the congested Lady Bay Bridge and Trent Bridge. The project, which has been made possible with the help of the government's Transforming Cities Fund, aims to further promote sustainable travel in the city, connecting to and enhancing the existing cycle infrastructure 🚲

The main bridge span is now under construction and is set to be lifted into place in mid-November, with the bridge's official opening due in Spring 2026. Exciting times ahead! 👷🌉

Post-installation inspections are crucial in ensuring continued performance, safety, and long-term value.

Public safety - especially at night - is paramount at Mills Hill, the second busiest unstaffed railway station in the Greater Manchester region.

Consistent illumination along platforms, ramps, and stairways helps prevent trips and falls, and acts as a visual aid for vulnerable passengers with impaired vision or mobility.

Handrail lighting should be properly calibrated for both ambience and visibility. Comprehensive visual checks also allow us to detect any electrical or structural issues that could pose a risk, and support compliance with stringent lighting regulations.

By identifying any issues early, we're able to extend the lifespan of critical components and reduce future maintenance costs - delivering real benefits to operators and users.

Our team over at Lighting Integration recently carried out a site inspection of the handrail lighting at Mills Hill railway station in the Metropolitan Borough of Rochdale in Greater Manchester. Safe, reliable, and built to last 💪
