Large Oak Tree reductions in Arddleen Today. There are Storm damage branches and splits in lower bows from the tree being heavily weighted. A building is being built underneath so the trees are being reduced before the building commences.

Reducing a Lombardy pop down by about 60%. The tree is in between the end of the house and the roadside, with phone lines passing by. A tiny drop zone meant everything was rigged and moved out to a more open space to be processed. The tree will respond with vigorous growth and then be shaped and kept a manageable size for its location.

Big Roadside Ash, crown removal to high pollard. The tree had previously dropped 2 large sections onto the road and phone lines below, and now had dieback as well as the wounds and unbalanced crown. We removed the upper crown to leave a safe, high pollard. This gives the tree a chance to hopefully respond with some safe new growth, and is still a valuable piece of habitat.

Dead ash dismantle on a cold and frosty morning. The tree had been in decline from having its roots cut away for the driveway/wall, then die back took hold. A cool view of the groundies setting up rigging etc.

Laying an old hawthorn hedge. The trees themselves are too big to lay really, but the ones with low branches and shoots are layed around some left as standards, a tricky one, but makes a really interesting hedge. Should look great in spring.

Pollarding a veteran hornbeam this afternoon, riddled with fungus, there was only 1 large bow remaining of the crown, so to avoid the shed being crushed and hopefully give the tree a longer life and less likely damage from winds a pollard was chosen. Left for regrowth and habitat. Our favourite kind of work 🌳
