Timeless doesn’t have to mean neutral.

There’s a common idea that if you want your home to stand the test of time, you need to play it safe with colour.

We don’t believe that.

Colour can bring warmth, energy and personality into a home while still feeling considered and sophisticated for years to come.

The key is how it’s used. The right tones, combinations and balance can make a space feel distinctly yours without following a trend that will quickly date.

Some of our most colourful interiors are also the ones that feel the most enduring, because the choices were shaped around the people living there rather than what happened to be popular at the time.

Your home doesn’t need to be neutral to be timeless. It needs to feel like you. 🤍

Your designer just spent 3 hours solving a problem you will never know about.

And that’s exactly how it should be.

Renovations rarely go entirely to plan. Something unexpected is discovered on site. A detail doesn’t work as intended. A supplier changes a lead time. A product arrives incorrectly. A builder needs an answer before they can continue.

Behind what might look like a simple decision can be hours of phone calls, drawings, conversations with contractors and finding an alternative that doesn’t compromise the overall design.

Our clients don’t need to be involved in every one of those conversations.

They need to know that someone is paying attention, making decisions and keeping their project moving forward.

A big part of our job happens quietly behind the scenes, solving problems before they become your problems.

Ensuite Transformation | Muswell Hill Family Home

Sitting just off the master bedroom, we wanted this ensuite to feel connected to the calm, cocooning atmosphere we had created next door, while giving it a character of its own.

Deep green tiles bring richness to the shower, balanced by warm neutral walls, dark wood and brass details. The herringbone splashback introduces another layer of pattern and texture without overwhelming the smaller space.

Storage was carefully considered too, keeping everyday necessities organised and allowing the room to remain visually calm.

It’s a small room, but one that forms an important part of the clients’ everyday routine, from busy mornings to slower evenings.

We Don’t Give You a Set of Drawings.
We Give You a Finished Home. | Part 1

A beautiful design means very little if it can’t actually be brought to life.

Before we start thinking about layouts, colours, materials, furniture and lighting, there are bigger questions to answer.

What are you trying to achieve? How does your home need to work for your lifestyle? What is realistic within your budget and timeline? And how do we turn all of those ideas into one clear vision?

Only then do we begin developing the design itself, from the creative details you see to the practical and technical decisions behind them.

Because our job isn’t to hand over a beautiful set of drawings and leave you to figure out the rest.

In Part 2, we’ll take you behind the next stage: how we take the design off the page and bring it to life.

Muswell Hill Project | Living Room Transformation

Warm, cosy, functional and emotionally uplifting. This was the vision behind our Muswell Hill living room.

We reworked the layout around the family’s everyday life, including their much-loved Friday movie nights, and introduced layers of lighting for reading, relaxing and quieter evenings.

In this north-facing room, colour played an important role too. A rusty orange sofa brings warmth and character, balanced with softer greens inspired by the garden and pinkish-violet accents throughout.

What was once a colder, less inviting room is now somewhere the whole family naturally gravitates towards, whether they’re relaxing together, reading or having friends over. 🤍

Q&A: What Has to Happen Before Builders Can Start?

One of the biggest surprises for homeowners planning a renovation is just how much needs to happen before the first day on site.

For a larger renovation, it can take up to six months from our first meeting with a client to the day the builders arrive.

And that time isn’t a delay. It’s what allows the project to be properly prepared.

The design needs to be developed and resolved.
Technical details need to be worked through.
Architects, engineers and other consultants may need to be involved.
Permissions and approvals need to be obtained.
The scope needs to be clearly defined so the project can be accurately priced and tendered.

At the same time, the construction team needs enough information to understand what they’re building, plan the programme and coordinate what will be required once work begins.

This is why the relationship between designer and builder is so important.

Working collaboratively before construction starts means questions can be addressed early, expectations are clear and everyone arrives on site working towards the same vision.

In this Q&A with , we’re sharing what really happens during those months before construction and why that preparation matters.

If you’re hoping to renovate next year, don’t wait until you’re ready for builders to start thinking about your project.
Start the conversation now. 🤍

How We Turn a Blank Canvas Into a Home

A beautiful room and a home you genuinely love living in are not quite the same thing.

When we begin a project, we don’t start by imposing a particular style or deciding what the finished space should look like.

We start with our clients.

How do you live?
Which rooms do you naturally gravitate towards, and which ones do you avoid?
Where does the light fall?
What feels cold, dark or impractical?
Do you want the space to energise you, help you switch off, bring the family together, or make coming home feel special?

Those answers shape everything that follows.

Sometimes the transformation comes through confident use of colour.
Sometimes it’s a completely different approach to lighting, layout or furniture.
Often, it’s the combination of many carefully considered decisions that changes how a space feels and, ultimately, how it’s used.

That’s why the homes we design don’t all look the same.
One might be joyful and full of energy.
Another calm and cocooning.
Another layered, characterful and made for entertaining.

The common thread is that they belong to the people who live there.

That’s how we take a blank canvas and turn it into a home. 🤍

10 Non-Negotiables for Designing Your New Home

A renovation or full-home transformation is one of the biggest investments you’ll make, both financially and in the amount of time and energy it requires.

And while choosing the right layout, finishes, lighting and furniture is an important part of the process, there is so much more that needs to be considered along the way.

The decisions you make early on can affect everything that follows, from the construction programme and budget to how comfortably your home works for you once you move back in.

That’s why our role goes far beyond creating the design. We guide our clients through every stage, help them make the right decisions at the right time, coordinate the details and make sure nothing important gets overlooked.

Because when you’re making hundreds of decisions across one project, you shouldn’t have to work out what comes next on your own.

Want to Complete Your Renovation Next Year? Start Planning Now

Most homeowners don’t start planning too late because they’re disorganised.
They start too late because they underestimate what happens before construction begins.

By the time builders arrive on site, hundreds of decisions have already shaped the outcome of the project.
The layout has been resolved.
The lighting has been coordinated.
Materials have been selected.
Technical drawings have been produced.
Products have been specified.
Budgets have been reviewed.
The right team has been assembled.

When all of that is in place, construction becomes the process of bringing the vision to life rather than trying to work it out as you go.

This is why we always encourage our clients to start planning earlier than they think they need to.

Not because we want the process to take longer.

Because giving yourself enough time creates better decisions, greater cost certainty, a stronger team, and a far less stressful renovation.

If you’re hoping to renovate next year, now is the perfect time to start the conversation.

The real luxury isn’t the design. It’s not having to manage any of it.

When people think about luxury interior design, they often picture bespoke furniture, beautifully crafted joinery, premium materials, and carefully curated finishes.

Those things certainly matter.

But for many of our clients, luxury is something much less visible.

It’s measured by how the journey feels.

For many homeowners, a renovation quickly becomes a second full-time job. Coordinating builders, chasing suppliers, managing deliveries, answering questions on site, making hundreds of decisions, and trying to keep everything moving while balancing work, family and everyday life.

That’s rarely the part people imagine.

Our role goes far beyond creating beautiful interiors.
We plan every detail before construction begins, coordinate the team throughout the project, solve problems before they become bigger issues, and keep every moving part working together towards the same vision.

Because creating a beautiful home is only part of what we do.
Making the journey there feel organised, enjoyable, and stress-free is just as important.
