This week, Nicola Maclean and Babita Cooper from our team attended The Workplace Event at the NEC in Birmingham, joining designers, suppliers, and industry professionals in conversation around a question that continues to shape how we all work: what does the office need to offer that home working simply cannot?

From sustainability to neurodiversity, the discussions were thoughtful and the direction was clear. People are at the centre of great workplace design, and we are proud to be part of that conversation.

What a start to Interchange UK! 🚀

We kicked off with a roundtable on Circular Economy in Transport Infrastructure, hosted by Nimit Raval and Eamon Nolan.

Nimit Raval shared: "The session highlighted core principles and demonstrated how supply chain collaboration and client commitment, combined with early implementation, drive success. Case studies shared real examples of effective adoption in practice."

Eamon Nolan then delivered his keynote discussion: "Is quality just a nice to have?"

"This is a conversation about shifting priorities in transport infrastructure. About recognising that quality is not an add-on, but a fundamental part of delivering spaces that people actually want to use."

We wrapped up the day in the Partner Theatre with Theresa Pan and Rick Wagstaffe presenting the Manchester Airport transformation project - tackling the challenge: What does it take to deliver a £1bn airport transformation programme while keeping the airport operational?

Theresa Pan reflected: "In collaboration with Rick Wagstaff from Manchester Airports Group, I had the pleasure of presenting the Manchester Airport Transformation Programme journey in the Partner Theatre — a decade-long transformation that has reshaped Manchester Airport. A key theme that resonated throughout was the strength of collaboration. The collective commitment, shared vision, and partnership-driven approach have been fundamental to the programme's success and remain at the heart of the MAN-TP story."

The session concluded with a panel chaired by Philip Wilson, featuring Theresa Pan (Pascall+Watson), Rick Wagstaffe from MAG, Lewis Williams from Buro Happold, and Phil Argile from H***e Lea.

A productive first day with great conversations about quality, sustainability, and delivery in transport infrastructure.

We have been at Workspace Design Show this week exploring this year's theme: Connected Realities.

Our Workplace Lead, Pavan Birdi, and Associate Sustainability, Nimit Raval, joined industry experts on two panels discussing how AI is reshaping workplace design and if its of positive use when it comes to sustainable design.

The event showcased the future of workspace through inspiring discussions and innovative products. From sustainable finishes and furnishings to AI-driven design solutions, we gained fresh perspectives on how technology is changing the way we work and design.

Thank you to everyone who attended our panels and connected with our team throughout the show!
