A quick tip, if you have broken freezer drawers , the ones you shoved shut beacause it needed defreezing and now it’s cracked you don’t have to buy new ones. Use the product I’ve shared carefully pull the broken part part slightly use a tooth pick to get the glue into the void , line it up and press it together with spray with the activator. Job done. Not like new, but perfectly usable again saving at least £35 a drawer.its more than a Handy Andy tip!

The other task this week was a very loose kitchen cabinet hanging at an angle supported by bits and bobs underneath it.

The original fitter had bodged the instal and all the plasterboard was shot with knackered fixings. I removed both brackets, before cutting sections of the boards out.

On one side it revealed a 25mm void to a brick wall, I packed this out with bonded plasterboard that made this fixing secure to fix utilising the original holes.

The second fixing was just onto the plasterboard which was in a sorry state with no current option to fix too.

I cut a section out to reveal plasterboard in an adjacent room to the rear with no battens to fix to or solid wall to screw through to.

To repair this I used three substantial battens glued and screwed to the rear of the existing board sat on top of each other to take the lateral downward weight.

I then packed out the void with new plasterboard level with the existing wall and bonded it in.

The cupboard hanging bracket was screwed to the top batten and the kitchen rebuilt as best as possible due the the cupboard carcass having become twisted due to hanging off at an angle.

Certainly looks much better than it did now the cupboard is fully supported straight again as well as being safe to use without fear of it falling off.

Another happy customer

How much to change a toilet seat? well thanks to a new build quite a lot.

The bolts were hidden the only way to do it is total removal of the toilet but the developer had boxed tight to the loo cistern and tiled over so the water inlet and cistern fixing were inaccessible as such I had to walk away advising the client as it was a rental property it was the landlords duty.

Busy little morning, I fitted a new Envirovent extractor fan and washroom light, repaired a cupboard door and hung two curtain poles.

The wall where the second pole was to be fixed had damage to the plasterboard so I hung the brackets while the filler goes off, you wouldn’t want that on your new curtains!

Another few ni**les fixed.
