Sharing a snippet from a completed feasibility study I did last week.

My clients moved into a lovely cottage in Reigate just a few weeks ago and wanted to explore what’s possible.

Exploring the potential of a property shouldn’t feel complicated, or financially overwhelming. I start with a 30 minute consultation and we discuss whats possible.

A feasibility study is a simple but valuable first step , looking at realistic design options, relevant planning policies and neighbouring context to show a client on what’s likely to be achievable.

Before we proceed to planning, the next step is to speak with trusted contractors to gain an early sense of budget. This allows clients to move forward with clarity and confidence, avoiding costly surprises or unnecessary overspending later on.

A closer look at the work in progress living room design in Reigate.

The bespoke joinery references the arched entry detail at the front of this Edwardian property, bringing some of the character through into the living space. Our detailed drawings tied in with the interior finishes help to bring everything together smoothly on site from the start.

I always encourage clients to think about the architecture and interiors from the start. It helps avoid delays and makes the whole process feel clearer, calmer and much more enjoyable, which is key when the renovations kick in! It doesn’t mean you have to do it all at once, but the design is there for you when you’re ready.

The finishes, lighting and materials have all been influenced by the character of the Edwardian property and the Arts and Crafts movement, balanced with a lighter, airier feel through natural linens and a few bolder statement pieces. The central artwork piece by Barbara Kuebel has been chosen as the focal point to tie it all together 💚

A glimpse behind the scenes of a living room transformation currently taking place on site in Reigate.

This south-facing space within an Edwardian property is being updated with bespoke joinery and a carefully selected colour palette. We have chosen a colour by which will embrace the warmer light of the room and will be paired with stronger undertones to create a balanced space that works throughout the day.

The joinery and walls are being spray painted by a specialist painter to achieve a clean, consistent finish. I work with a trusted network of skilled professionals, including builders, carpenters, and decorators to ensure a seamless process, no matter the size of the project, all of who I can confidently recommend to my clients.

I’m Monika, an architect and founder of Studio M Architecture & Interior Design. After recently moving to Reigate and falling in love with the area, I wanted to introduce myself and my studio, which I’ve been running since 2019. Now based in Reigate, I’m excited to bring a unique one-stop studio service to the community that Studio M is proud to call home.

I specialise in residential extensions, renovations, and commercial projects, offering a fully coordinated service across architecture, interiors, and construction. Over the years, I’ve built a trusted network of skilled professionals, including builders, carpenters, landscape gardeners, and decorators - all of whom I can confidently recommend to my clients.

My aim is to remove stress and uncertainty that often comes with sourcing contractors independently. Without the right team in place, projects can face delays, unexpected costs, and compromise quality. Instead, I offer a smooth and reliable process where every detail is carefully managed from the outset, regardless of project size and always with budget in mind.

When I founded Studio M in 2019 and stepped away from traditional practice, I realised how important it was to be genuinely involved in each client’s journey. Understanding priorities, budgets, and challenges from the beginning allows me to put the right plan in place, whether that’s delivering a project in phases or selecting the right suppliers and trades; I personally help to bring ideas to life in a realistic and achievable way.

I don’t follow styles or trends. Instead, I focus on what will make my clients happiest in their home, ensuring the design and construction process is clear, enjoyable, and stress-free. As a result, Studio M has grown entirely through word of mouth, built on trust and long-standing client relationships.

Studio M is now launching locally and open for new projects across Reigate, Surrey, and surrounding areas.

We got Planning!

Very excited to announce that we got planning permission for a new family townhouse in Hammersmith.

By seeking pre-application advice and working closely with the Hammersmith and Fulham planners, we have been granted approval of all interior and exterior alterations. We will be developing a double storey extension with new interiors throughout this beautiful house 👏🏻
