Finally getting through all the appointments that were missed over the past few weeks thanks to my baby daughter being soo poorly, it was terrible timing right on top of the spring rush! I will feel like i'm on an even keel again when I get to the end of this week 🙃
Then I have an exciting project I will finally have time to turn my attention to! Full garden make over with custom made garden feature, cottage garden planting and children's fairy garden corner will certainly keep me busy ✨️🧚‍♀️

Spring flowers are popping up everywhere now, I absolutely adore this time of year, here's a gorgeous Anemone Blanda to enjoy 🌸

All this lovely spring sunshine and I've been stuck at home looking after a poorly baby all week (and weekend)! 😪 lots of disruption to my schedule and will be playing catch up next week! Eeek!
Got out for a walk this morning and was delighted by all the lovely blossoms on this corridor of Sloe bushes, they look like white clouds theres so many blooms on them! 🤩

Lawn pampering in progress!
Moss raked out, edges defined, new seeds applied along with a fine layer of compost to protect them and give the ground a good boost of nutrients.
It rained as soon as I had finished up here, so the new lawn seeds got a good natural watering, with the sun appearing this week they should have no problem germinating, in a couple of weeks this lawn will be looking fresh with newly sprouted grass 🤩

The best thing about "clump forming" perennials and ornamental grasses is eventually you get free plants to play with!
This Carex grass split into 3 full bunches giving this garden some much needed fillers for the empty spaces. This display is looking a little bare at the moment as the ferns and perennials died back for winter, once the weather warms up a bit more they will soon bounce back with lush foliage for a full display as shown in the last 2 pics, signs of life already with plenty of green shoots appearing and fern fronds just waiting to unfurl!

I often say bulb planting is a bit like painting with flowers. You have a vision in mind, you plant your bulbs and then you have to wait to see the results!
This "gradient" of Crocus was a clients vision, we had tried it in a pot the previous year but it wasn't particularly effective so back to the drawing board and this client dazzled me with a wide selection of Crocus to scale up the project and attempt it in the front garden bed.
Planted so that each variety slightly overlaps and flows into the next. We are a little disappointed that some of the deeper purple tones haven't flowered in unison with the rest of display as the client had visioned, but that is the way with nature- it will ultimately work on it's own schedule! But overall I am really pleased with how it turned out! Hopefully it will improve next year as the bulbs settle in and start to naturalise in the ground.

I'm always happy to tailor my service to suit each of my clients, every one has different needs from their garden and I'm very adaptable and open to ideas to help your plants and garden flourish.
I also understand that growing from seeds, bulbs and tubers can be a little intimidating- so I do my best to assist and advise throughout this journey.

This client loves her Dahlias but doesn't know where to start when it comes to waking them up at the start of the season or packing them away at the end- so I've been taking care of the tricky bits- I'll start the tubers off again this Spring, then plant them out into pots when the risk of frost has passed, then after a season of enjoying their showstopping blooms, i'll clean and pack up the tubers ready to store again!

Another post to cheer up this grey, cold day! I'm totally wishing the days away now- I'm soo ready for some Spring sunshine!!

After all the rain recently the ground in this garden bed has become quite soft and this top heavy Viburnum tinus tree started to tilt forward. I've corrected it by putting a strong tree stake in place and reducing the weight of the foliage by giving it a much needed trim.
Some cheerful spring refreshers for the doorstep pots here too! Cant go wrong with apple-blossom pink Primroses and Saxifraga bringing a splash of colour to these grey rainy days! ...I did see a glimpse of sunshine earlier though :P 🌞

Seems a bit silly to be connecting irrigation with all this rainy weather!! 😆 but spring IS coming and before we know it warm, dry days will be upon us!
So I'm making sure the new planting arrangement at this garden will be connected sufficiently.
As I tested the line I discovered damaged pipes from the wildlife digging and chewing, and was able to repair and reconnect it, the new plants in this bed each have their own watering spout now.

It doesn't look like much now but this area will soon be teeming with a succession of flowers, there are Crocus coming up nicely, which will be followed by a mixture of Triumph Tulips and White Narcissus, then Allium 'Millennium' will follow- which is more of a hardy perennial than the typical bulb version of Allium, so will improve with each passing year. Then there will be Japanese Anemones flowering later in the summer into autumn, and we still have to plant in a Geranium for reliable summer long flowers and finally row of Campanula in the front edges, oh and there is a white flowering Brunnera here as well, it's just having a little groan establishing itself but should soon take off! Really looking forward to seeing this little patch take shape as the new plants settle in and flower 🌸

Another grim, grey, rainy day! Looking back at past projects and the lush summer days that will be here very soon! 🌞
This is the community garden that I use and love dearly, nestled in a secret corner in Bow. I spend a lot of time here and it was only right to give back to the community by volunteering my time to rebuild the frames over the raised beds (as well as letting them take advantage of my trade discount card for the timber and materials needed)
The original frames and beds were made over 12 years ago, naturally they had become worn out and started falling apart in places- so it was time for a refresh!
I then facilitated a volunteer day, where a group of Citi workers came to help us with sanding and painting the new frames, we also had them turn the compost bins, w**d the meadow and help us to re-line the pond! They were great help and we had a very productive day! The community that use the garden were all very happy to have a refreshed space to use after 😊
This is where I often bring plants that clients no longer want, so that they don't go to waste and the community can enjoy and care for them, I get sad binning plants so I try to save what I can when possible! 🍀
