I’m sharing my top tips that helped me land interviews at leading AJ100 firms ⬇️
1. Exposure:
I attended multiple networking events hosted by large practices where I Presented my CV and portfolio to architects and built environment professionals
2. Exhibitions:
Ensure you’re using all opportunities to bring exposure to your work. Enter design competitons, present work at your university degree show, join a mentoring or summer programme that offers exhibitions and showcasing of work
3. Applications:
Curating and tailoring my CV, portfolio and cover letter based on every practice I applied to. No doubt this is time consuming however you need to remember that the job market is competitive right now and your application needs to stand out to show you have interest in the practices you’re applying to according to what they specialise in
4. Social Network:
Message Directors, recruiting managers and professionals of a company you’re interested in on LinkedIn. I recently had an interview doing this. Sadly no offer, but the technique proved to work
