The Glasshouse Garden by Jo Thompson at Chelsea Flower Show 2025

I am so lucky to have been involved in the creation of this beautiful and important garden.
What an experience working with and learning from a team of amazing women.

End of term harvesting! Or ‘the free supermarket’ as one boy called it 😆
12 children took home carrots, beetroot, chard, lettuce & herbs and we potted up the rest of the lettuce and tomato seedlings to take home too.
It’s been a hard growing year and the snails have fed on our produce far too well but the kids have been brilliant fun to work with 🥰

Met this beauty amongst the flowers at the RHS Wildlife Garden - the Marbled White butterfly.
A brilliant few days talking to visitors about the garden and spotting the wildlife moving in with
&
Also pictured are the small skipper butterflies which swarmed on us while we were planting and carried on enjoying the delicious nectar buffet while the show was open. Their favourite flower was the betonica officinalis ‘Hummelo’ 💜

Literally living the dream last week volunteering for on the beautiful RHS Wildlife Garden at Hampton Court.
I met such a lovely, welcoming and knowledgeable team, learnt so much and was enveloped in beautiful plants and colours for 3 happy days.
As we planted the garden the wildlife literally moved in - so many species of butterfly, bee, beetles, spiders, worms, damselflies and birds couldn’t wait to get busy in this gorgeous space and we were all watched over curiously by the beady eyes of a pair of kestrels in the trees behind the show ground ❤️
‘If you plant them, they will come’ (quote by me, inspired by Wayne’s World)

Thank you so much to Jo & for the opportunity & to for the excellent guidance and snacks.

Tasty treasures are now found in the garden.
We have strawberries, raspberries, gooseberries, redcurrants, blackcurrants, blackberries and jostaberries all ripening beautifully in their glorious sunshine.
The children love picking and eating them fresh off the plants and have sweet moments of wonder at their beauty and flavour.

Highlight of Chelsea Flower Show for me was helping out on the Talitha Arts Garden designed by
Such a beautiful garden, gorgeous varieties and textures of plants and all symbolic of a journey of transformation through trauma to release through the power of the creative arts. So many people I spoke to emotionally connected with the garden ❤️‍🩹
Thanks for the opportunity Jo & Laura x

Full disclosure… I work in a jungle 🫣😆
I don’t often post photos of the school garden I work in because I’m embarrassed by its messiness amongst all the picture perfect gardens here.
There are a LOT of weeds! I am only here once a week & at this time of year I just can’t keep up with them.
However there are also a lot of veg, fruits and flowers growing, a great variety of beneficial insects & so many children who love being out here & gardening with me.
Time to be proud!
