NJ Architecture

NJ Architecture A building is a story: of a family, a neighbourhood, a city. The architects unravel in stone their tale of living, working, imagining the future and the past.

At NJA we create them to reflect your sense of beauty, peace, and happiness.

Patterns don’t always need geometry, sometimes light does the work.
In Dubai, where the sun is constant and intense, shadow becomes its own language, shaping surfaces, defining depth, and creating moments of quiet complexity.

Coffee with a view, surrounded by one of the most dynamic architectural scenes in the world.
Dubai is a city that constantly negotiates between ambition, innovation, and cultural identity.

Taking a moment to observe, reflect, and engage with a built environment that continues to evolve and challenge conventional thinking.

Always learning from the city. ☕

Grateful to have taken part as a panellist in The House of the Milky Way, an exhibition opening and panel discussion hosted by in partnership with the Italian Cultural Institute in Abu Dhabi.

An inspiring evening exploring speculative design, co-design, and community engagement as tools for intercultural dialogue and inclusive futures, at the intersection of art and architecture.

Thank you to Paolo Ghezzi and Susanna Iacona Salafia for the thoughtful artistic vision, and to .imparato.98 for moderating the conversation with depth and generosity.

✨ Architecture, art, and imagination as shared civic ground.

2025 has been a year of research, making, and inquiry at NJ Architecture.

The work carries into 2026.

After more than twenty five years in architecture, between studying and professional practice, I look back at my graduation project with fresh clarity.

Maaloula is a historic mountain village in Syria, known for its dramatic landscape and ancient Christian shrines. My graduation project explored a cable car station there as more than infrastructure. The idea was to connect residents and tourists from the bottom of the valley to the mountain summit, leading to the Christian shrine above. Conceived as a spatial threshold, the station connected landscape, movement, and ritual. Using an insulated concrete frame, it balanced structural clarity with a calm, timeless presence, framing arrival and pause rather than just departure and destination.

In hindsight, this project marked the beginning of my long-term interest in movement, sequence, and how architecture choreographs human experience within cultural landscapes.

I recently attended Hanif Kara’s lecture at the King Fahad National Library in Riyadh, part of the Library Talks series, “The Mirage of Distant Engineers.”

He spoke about architecture as an ethical act, showing how design can reconcile heritage, climate, and human dignity. His notes on the Ismaili Center in Houston brought the social mission into focus.

I also appreciated the Musalla at the Islamic Arts Biennale by the Diriyah Biennale Foundation, where a modular palm frond structure reframed prayer, material, and community. The idea of oneness still resonates in my kinetic Muqarnas research.

“AI will not design ethics. Architecture’s real material is moral imagination.”

A study in vaulted continuity and light.
This 3D-printed model explores how form, structure, and rhythm merge into one surface. The vaulted shells are textured to catch light differently across their curves, emphasizing the geometry’s subtle movement and material depth.

Behind the scenes of the villa model studies.
Each 3D-printed form was cut in half to reveal the interior spatial sequence, the double-height living area, central stairs, and layered circulation. The sectional models capture the relationship between envelope and interior rhythm, turning the process of making into a study of inhabitation.
