Our scheme at Claverings Industrial Estate for Danescroft has been shortlisted for Warehouse Property of the Year Award.

The regeneration of this key site in Edmonton, North London. Designed by Chetwoods for Danescroft and Fiera Real Estate UK, the masterplan will transform a dated, underutilised industrial estate into a high-quality urban logistics hub.

The scheme will deliver seven new industrial and warehouse units ranging from 11,300 to 70,000 sq ft, designed with flexibility to support a wide range of modern logistics, manufacturing and distribution uses — with long-term adaptability at its core.

Sustainability is embedded throughout, with a fabric-first approach, low-carbon materials, and targets of BREEAM Excellent and EPC A+. A strong landscape strategy — including tree retention and new planting — will enhance biodiversity and promote occupier wellbeing.

A future-ready logistics destination, aligned with Enfield’s long-term growth ambitions.

Our recent scheme, Firestone LDN, was named a winner in the New London Architecture Awards – Industrial and Logistics category early this month.

Located on an iconic Brentford site along the historic Golden Mile, Firestone LDN transforms the former Firestone Tyre Factory into a high-specification, state-of-the-art logistics and HQ hub. Designed by Chetwoods Architects, the scheme carefully blends Art Deco heritage with modern performance.

Data centres are expanding fast — and as they move closer to where people live and work, their design matters more than ever.

Our perspective along with 3 of our recent schemes in the Architects’ Journal on how responsible, thoughtful architecture can transform these highly technical buildings into assets for their local context.

At Chetwoods, we’re exploring how to reconcile performance, sustainability, planning pressures and placemaking — whether that means elevating façades near heritage sites or designing landscapes that create public interest.

Taking a look back at our metro station designs that are informed by the character of each city and the flow of its people. Ideas drawn from context — light, movement, materiality — are developed into clear architectural principles that guide the design process.

These principles shape structures that are not only efficient transport hubs but also civic spaces: places where infrastructure meets identity.

From concept to construction, we aim to ensure that the original design intent is legible in the final built form — translating sketches and models into stations that enhance daily journeys.

We're delighted that Lexden Gardens, our transformation of the Grade II-listed Essex County Hospital, has been featured in Issue 63 of the New London Quarterly (NLQ).

Commissioned by Essex Housing, the project is a case study in how adaptive reuse can serve both heritage and housing needs. The site — with roots stretching back to Roman times — has been reimagined into high-quality residential accommodation while retaining its architectural integrity and civic identity.

Key themes discussed in the feature:
- A heritage-led, future-focused strategy
- Integration within the broader Colchester Conservation Area
- Reinstating historic green spaces and respecting the site's original campus layout
- Modern interiors that complement traditional forms

This project demonstrates that preservation and progress can — and should — go hand in hand.
