Great work to the team on site rescuing an injured Barn Owl in the Cess. The team acted quickly and took it to the nearest vets for urgent care. We’ve had feedback and been notified that it’s in rehabilitation and will let us know when it’s let back out in the wildlife. Thanks to all involved

As we embark on a new venture of safety critical work for new clients .

Ben Wood this weekend as acted as an Es for Coombes in Kimbridge.

The ES is responsible for clearly marking, establishing, maintaining, and closing down the physical work area within an engineering possession.

Ensuring safety compliance: This is the primary duty, ensuring all work adheres strictly to health, safety, and environmental regulations, including Network Rail specifications and company procedures.

Conducting risk assessments and safety briefings: Identifying potential hazards before work begins and implementing mitigation measures. They often deliver safety briefings to the workgroup in conjunction with the Controller of Site Safety (COSS).

Authorising train movements: The ES is responsible for authorising the movement of engineering trains and on-track machinery into and within the worksite, liaising with the signaller and driver to ensure it is safe to do so.
Emergency response: Coordinating the response in the event of an emergency and liaising with relevant services.

Cleared 3km of track on a high leaf fall site, just missing the storms on Sunday!
