AI is becoming a genuinely useful early-stage visualisation tool. Two quick concept options for our mixed-use scheme just outside Ely based off our early stage massing ideas. Fast for testing, useful for opening up client and planner conversations to help understand an overall direction.

We designed the building, now we get to make the kitchen.

Surveyed Leopold Road, Norwich this week. The cladding from and the Java brick from are sitting really well together, just parapet detailing and gutters to finish before the scaffold comes down. Overall will be a great project in a lovely part of Norwich.

The White Horse, Thelnetham, Suffolk. In for planning now with West Suffolk Council after a long run of surveys, redesigns and pre-application work.

A village pub being brought back to use as a traditional village pub with a new restaurant, converted barn into bed and breakfast accommodation and a renovated interior.

Renders run through Enscape + Veras. The years of learning photoshop quickly evaporating!

Early diagrams for a new site in Haddenham. A mixed-use development, padel courts, a reception and café, and a small farm shop, alongside a residential development. Splitting the site into two parts, sitting at the edge of the village held by the existing line of trees.

The questions at this stage are not about form, they’re about siting: how the leisure programme, the residential and the overall landscape share the plot without any one of them taking over.

We like to work with natural timbers wherever we can and as much as possible. Not just because they look better (they always do) but because they last, they age well, and they don’t end up in landfill in ten years. Ash fascias, solid oak tops, oak veneered ply carcasses. Nothing painted over.

A few days with the planer, the sander, and some finishing oil and this will be bought back to life.

We’re really looking forward to delivering this one over the next couple of months, in collaboration with . This project has been a genuine labour of love.

What started back in May 2023 with the first architectural sketches has now come full circle, with us delivering the kitchen and joinery as part of the same scheme. Being involved from the very first ideas through to the final details is exactly why we do what we do.

It’s a great example of how architecture, kitchens and joinery can work together when they’re considered as one. Thoughtful design, carried through properly to the finished article.

Reflecting on of our first completed kitchens in Holland Park, 2024. Looking back now, it’s clear how much we’ve grown and refined our process since then. Bringing architecture and joinery together feels increasingly important, the overlap is undeniable, and the results are stronger when everything is considered as one. The new year is shaping up to be a busy one, with three kitchens already in the pipeline. Excited to share more soon.

New year and a new planning win 🎉

Really pleased to have secured approval for our Walthamstow project. Sitting within a conservation area and involving a Grade II listed house, this was a far more sensitive scheme than most, lots of careful detailing, justification and back-and-forth, but we got there in the end.

The ‘visuals’ almost look like it’s already been built. Looking forward to getting this one on site around late April.

This was a kitchen we designed last year but we didn’t get the chance to deliver it in the end, as they say you can’t win them all, but revisiting the original renders and bringing them to life with a bit of AI has been fun. It’s amazing what’s possible with the right prompts, as long as we stay transparent and clearly label where AI’s been used. A helpful tool, just not a replacement for real design… yet 🥶 P.S. Was this post written with AI? 😂

The White Horse has been through a few changes after the pre-app, and honestly the planners made some great suggestions for once 🤣.

Having a separate building on site for BnB stays really opens things up too, people can come for live music, good beer, good food, enjoy the evening properly. The barn is looking like it will be built using a Nurz Holtz system from Germany, which should make for a seriously unique structure when it comes together.
