The very first stage of work begins with the creation of a moisture-proof barrier between the board and the concrete base. This will prevent your future floor from "pulling" moisture from the concrete and spoiling from fungal infections.
✅ There are two methods for arranging a floor on concrete:
- on a plywood base, laid on a tensioner;
- on a frame made of wooden bars.
✅ Placing a board on a plywood base.
For this method of arranging a wooden floor, plywood with moisture-resistant properties, thickness from 15-18 mm, is used exclusively. It is recommended not to attach whole sheets to the concrete base, but strips with a width of 40 mm or more. It is better if the plywood is laid diagonally, so the load will be evenly distributed. Then it is polished and cleaned of dust. They begin laying boards on clean plywood.
✅ Placing a board on a frame made of wooden logs on a concrete base.
This is the same method as laying the floor on the logs, only they are mounted on concrete. For installation, dried blocks or logs are used, the moisture content of which does not exceed 18%. This is done with screws strictly perpendicular to the floor. It is also possible to save communications using another fastening method - glue or mastic. It will not only hold the logs tightly, but also serve as waterproofing.
