Initial sketches for the refurbishment of this 1930s semi-detached house.
The design focusses on the reorganisation of internal spaces to create open plan family space at the rear of the house. The use of a limited palette of natural materials will provide a consistent language throughout the house. Dark smoked oak floors paired with a pale colour scheme unite spaces and give an opportunity for age and patina.
The hallway is refreshed with mirrors and artwork taking advantage of the morning sun. Doorways are repositioned to maintain the physical separation and frame views through into the new large kitchen and garden beyond.
