Restoring a Landmark: St Andrew’s Church
St Andrew’s Church, a Grade II listed building in the Barnsbury Conservation Area, stands proudly as the architectural centrepiece of Thornhill Square and Thornhill Crescent. Surrounded by elegant Victorian terraces, the Church is a vital part of Islington’s historic urban landscape, contributing significantly to the area’s distinctive heritage character.
Given its importance, the restoration project required thoughtful planning and meticulous care to preserve the Church’s architectural integrity and ensure its historic charm endures for future generations.
We’re delighted to announce the completion of Phase 2 of our major restoration programme, which focused on the West Elevation of the Nave. This follows the successful repair of the North Vestry Gable in 2024.
A heartfelt thank you to the skilled team at Universal Stone Ltd for their dedication and craftsmanship throughout this phase of the restoration.
