With temperatures like today’s, I’ve been thinking about the pool at our Sussex Guest Wellness Pavillion all morning.

Designing a pool always starts with a little dance between imagination and materials that can actually last in humid environments and for our Guest and Wellness Pavilion, we looked far and wide for ideas that would sit harmoniously alongside the rest of the house. The brief was warm, layered spaces that feel lived-in and loved. We chose a stunning ombré Tadelakt finish on the walls which when combined with low-level mood lighting, the result is serene, tactile and refined.

We couldn’t resist a checkerboard mosaic inside the pool, with a high gloss coral clay changing room to amplify the playfulness. On a day like today, I’d give anything to be here ☀️

I’ve been waiting to share this update for so long and it was so worth the wait! The Old Chapel is at such an exciting stage right now and site updates are coming in thick and fast.

For those who haven’t followed the project from the beginning, this Grade II listed building in St John’s Wood started life as a Chapel before later becoming a recording studio — we’re now tasked with transforming this historic building into apartments full of tradition and character, with a showstopping penthouse to crown it all. It’s rare to work on projects with bones so extraordinary: grand proportions, tall ceilings and those magnificent arched windows.

The penthouse’s staircase carcass is in and eagerly awaiting its marble cladding, while the bespoke communal flooring has been laid using a beautiful mix of marbles — so many exciting finishes throughout, but I won’t spoil the grand reveal once it’s all finished.

This was our first large-scale project, so it holds a really special place in my heart. The house was only built in 2021, but the facade gives nothing away, and then you step inside and it’s full of colour and personality, which is exactly what we wanted.

Our clients were a young family who of course wanted everything to feel comfortable and family-friendly, but also elegant and a little unexpected. We landed on blues and greens running through the house, with warmer tones woven in here and there, so it all feels connected without ever feeling matchy.

My favourite space has to be the formal sitting room, heavily panelled and painted in the softest plaster pink. It’s north-facing, so I knew straight away that a plain white would just fall flat. The pink gives it that “hug while you sit there” feeling, and the curved sofas and rounded ottoman make it properly practical for a busy family with kids running about.

Then there’s the kitchen, which is the complete opposite: a deep navy with kit kat tiles for a little Japanese touch, pale wood on the island and larder to keep it warm, and olive green stools that tie in with the garden views.

This house has got real personality and a bit of cheekiness, and honestly it’s one of the warmest places to come home to.

What started as a plan to relocate a staircase turned into something far more ambitious and honestly, far more exciting. The clients gave us their full trust, and the result is a home that surprises you the moment you step inside. A three-storey entrance void will do that.
The brief was built around art and craftsmanship, the owners have a genuine passion for both, so we kept the palette richly layered but neutral, to let their artwork breathe. The staircase still puts a smile on my face every time. It’s just so sculptural and beautiful. And dressing the house was a joy — the owner is a ceramicist, and I loved that her handmade pieces ended up in many of the rooms. It’s rare that a home so fully reflects the people living in it.

When tackling the brief for this room we knew that we could turn the creativity up a few gears.

Not only were we working for a repeat client who really trusted our vision, but this particular space was a teenager’s bathroom. It had to be a space that had some seriously cool credentials but that could also stand the test of time for a young adult. When we spotted these beautiful cement tiles from I instantly knew it was right: A fun pattern, a stunning colour that worked with the nature-inspired theme tor the house and a lovely tactile finish. With the skylight overhead it really comes to life and is one of my all-time favourite bathrooms. If you’re new to using cement tiles it’s worth knowing that they do show more patina and wear & tear than porcelain or ceramic tiles, but this is often the charm and the softer appeal of the finish is particularly lovely in bathroom spaces.

Working on our Sussex Guest & Wellness Pavilion, I knew we needed to respect the character of the original manor house while leaning into our shared love of colour and pattern mixing.

There’s something different about working with clients for a second, third, or fourth time. The trust is already there. That’s what opens the door to more adventurous choices: materials we hadn’t used before, ideas we could properly explore. The brief felt less like a brief and more like a conversation we’d already been having for years.

Imagine eating dinner and looking up and seeing a night sky full of stars - this was the image we and our clients had in mind from the start.

Follow the series of arched doorways through our Surrey Country Home and they lead you straight to the kitchen. Here, a stunning curved conservatory sits at the end, wrapping around a bespoke banquette templated exactly to its curve. Seated here by day and you’re surrounded by forest. By night you’re dining under the stars.

The rest of the kitchen follows the same brief - genuinely sociable, built for a family that actually uses the space. The island is the largest we’ve ever designed, with a stainless steel top that will endure the wear family life throws at it and generous seating on the other side for family and friends to stay close when cooking. The sink with it’s very own herb trough looks straight out at the garden. Nothing here was placed without thinking about how it would function and feel to be in the room.
