A self-build four-bedroom detached house in London Borough of Redbridge. With a split-level arrangement the house takes advantage of the natural falls on the unique corner plot to provide the entrance and main living space at street level before stepping down to an open-plan kitchen/dining room and secluded garden at the rear.

The contemporary home responds to the suburban and Mock Tudor characters of two neighbouring Conservation Areas with soft red bricks to the ground floor and a framed brick relief detail in chalky white bricks to the upper storey.

The characterful gable end presents a strong silhouette to the approach road, signalling the domesticity of the area and offering a diagrammatic reading of the plan form.

Construction start of our project to create 8 new dwellings in the Albert Gardens Conservation Area of Tower Hamlets.

The project involves the refurbishment and extension of the lower two floors of the existing Georgian terraced properties to create two new family dwellings together with with a new three storey building to the rear to provide a mix of one and two bedroom flats.

Significant start on site at our end of terrace whole house refurbishment project in Victoria Park Conservation Area.

New steel structure throughout enables the cellular layout to be opened up to create new grand spaces on the ground, first and new second floors and enable light to permeate deep within the plan.

The office has a particular interest in creating sensitive interventions within the tight urban landscape that maximise the benefit of each and every endeavour.

This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside the director on a broad range of domestic refurbishments, new build houses and larger residential developments.

You will be involved in all project stages from brief development and feasibility through to developed design and construction. The range of on-site construction experience would also be ideal for candidates looking for a case study project to develop towards their Part 3 studies.

The scaffold has been struck at our stepped new build house unveiling an upper storey of chalky white brick.

Alternatively known as the Stepped House, Mock Tudor House and Gable House in the office, this new build house is the first to gain planning approval in a row of rear gardens in London Borough of Redbridge.

The footprint of the house is stepped to relate to the pavement level at the front and the lower garden at the rear.

The front and rear elevations offer a nod to the neighbouring Mock Tudor properties with a subtle brick framing detail and the prominent gable end/chimney offer a diagram of ‘house’ to the approach road.

The basement music room is taking shape at the Red House, our new three bedroom family house in north London.

The basement follows the irregular form of the whole footprint of the house plus a rear courtyard lightwell which will provide daylight, ventilation and a little outside space for music room.

The contiguous piles enable the basement to be excavated and a reinforced waterproof concrete box to be formed. The whole interior will then be lined with a cavity drain membrane to ensure that the finished space remains completely dry.

These two elegant but restrained houses in have achieved planning approval.

We are pleased that after considering the concerns of local residents the planning committee voted unanimously in favour of the proposals.

The project will redevelop a row of garages to provide a pair of two-bedroom homes. The proposals were designed to address concerns raised by local residents, the design officer and highways and we are glad that we were able navigate these constraints to achieve a high quality development for our Client.
