Simple ways to improve your kitchen.
A quick, low cost way of refreshing the rooms you spend the most time in is to replace or repaint cupboard doors, units or work surfaces. Installing new worktops for instance can give the impression of a completely new kitchen. “Even if you can only afford laminate worktops rather than granite, as long as it’s good quality and is installed by a professional it will look great.

When painting interior walls paint from top to bottom working away from windows.

Using a brush
Use the biggest brush you feel comfortable with, this will allow you to cover a greater area quicker, and therefore lessen the chance of the paint drying out too quickly at any edges.

Using a roller - short pile
Fill the roller tray to a depth so that the paint doesn't rise above the pile of the roller, this will help to avoid overloading the roller.

Cleaning Appliances without chemicals – Baking soda can not only get your kitchen appliances looking and smelling their best, but in the right solution it can even bring back the brightness of their white exteriors. For general cleaning, mix ¼ cup of baking soda with ½ cup of white vinegar in a gallon of clean hot water. Scrub the appliances with a non-abrasive scouring pad or sponge and then rinse it with clean water and dry.

How to create more storage.
• Ready-made shelves can be installed just about anywhere to create storage for books and decorative items, toys, glassware, china, and just about anything that will fit on a 6- or 12-inch ledge. If you intend to store heavy items, make sure the brackets are securely anchored.
• A hallway that's wide enough can double as a storage area if you line the walls with shelves or shallow cabinets.
