Original Features was one of the very first suppliers of Victorian-style geometric tiles in the UK. We started life in the mid-1980s as a small shop in Crouch End, North London, selling tiles to local customers keen to restore their 19th and early 20th century homes to their former glory. Fast forward to 2016 and … the shop is still in Crouch End and still selling geometric tiles but some other th

ings have changed. These days our customers buy our tiles not just for restoration projects, but for contemporary refurbishments too: with so many colours and shapes to choose from, you can modernise one of our traditional designs or create a completely original one of your own. And now our thriving e-commerce business allows us to serve customers far beyond the confines of North London, putting the wealth of knowledge and experience we’ve acquired over the last 30 years to the best possible use. However, one aspect of the business that has not changed is the pride we take in providing our customers with a personal service: if you are contemplating a new project but you are not sure where to start, we can offer you technical expertise as well as bespoke help with a specific design. The use of .1894 as a key design element creates a striking and fabulous effect.

We could do what everyone else does.

But when a client hires an interior designer, they are often looking for something else, something that reflects who they are.

For this terrace, I imagined a pattern inspired by Mediterranean patios, designed specifically for this space and then created with artisans whose craftsmanship I particularly admire.

Because the job of an interior designer is not just about choosing materials.

It is about imagining places that cannot be found in a catalog.

And it is often in these details that emotion is born.

Great renovation and repair work bu here is the original post:
Day 2 Victorian tiled hallway in Staffordshire, I filled a void yesterday to create a new bed, I’ve fitted the tiles today and grouted any gaps, there was a couple of loose tiles fixed them in and I’m back on Thursday to apply a seal.

This floor was last weeks job, a few tiles to replace, deep cleaning and an application of a colour enhancer and seal, this gives a matt finish that brightens the colour.

Really enjoyed transforming this homes original floor back to its former glory.

Very unique to have two different patterns in the same hallway in this type of house.

We fitted a new door threshold to match in with the original floor and then cleaned and sealed it ready for our customer.

From last summer. Got this one over the line with just enough help from BST. Grout dried, heavens opened.

This was our favourite project of the year, and I think it is obvious why. These porcelain replica tiles of the old Victorian encaustic give the wow factor to a period home, and the intricate geometric pattern only adds to the overall beautiful aesthetic. The clincher for me is the blue tile, it lifts the entire floor.
