Light is very important for us at Yellow Kite Architects; either by applying rooflights to ensure natural light distribution across the plan, or, by cleverly using light fittings and dimmer controls to suit different moods and serve functional requirements locally.

Task, ambient and directed lights from multiple sources across the room can totally transform a space, ranging from fully lit to an atmospheric background feature.

Exciting to be exploring options whilst finalising finishes and light fittings for Broadley Terrace extension. In small spaces, efficient layouts with built-in furniture and clever storage solutions could make a difference, making a confined room feel spacious and allowing for ample natural light.

Broadley Street works progressing well! With the loft envelope completed, the ground floor extension is taking shape with the beautiful ash joists roof in place and the open plan kitchen being formed, while internal refurbishment works are in full swing, stretching on four levels and including master bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and ample storage space with walk-in wardrobes.

Goes to show that terraced flats, no matter how narrow, if designed well have great potential and can make for a well-sized property.

Last strokes on the bathroom as works are concluding at Brookehowse Road loft extension.

A rich conrtrast of dark green wall tiles (Meld, Domus) against the smooth grey of the floor (Noon, Domus), combined with a nice touch of brushed bronze on the sanitaryware and the warmth of bamboo ply furniture.
Great to work with ASphoraj Construction, who have paid attention to every small greendetail.

The shell of Brookehowse Road Loft extension is completed! Great work by Shporaj Construction and some true craftsmanship by F&G roofing to achieve the sharp chamfer surround of the zinc cladding. A project that will also rely on renewable energy sources, solar and air source heat pump, Yellow kite are proud to commit to moving to a more sustainable future
