A very special current project — reimagining a 3-acre Oxfordshire garden design within mature woodland 🌳✨

The house refurbishment is almost complete, and over the coming months the garden will begin to take shape — always the most rewarding part of the process.

With sandy, acidic soil and a beautiful woodland setting, the design leans into naturalistic planting — ferns, heathers and soft layers that feel completely at home here. The new glass extension and terrace open the house out into the landscape, creating a gentle connection between inside and out.

We’re introducing a wheelchair-accessible walled garden, terraced spaces to sit within the views, restoring meadow areas for pollinators, and creating a wildlife pond to bring even more life into the garden.

A residential garden design rooted in its setting — balancing accessibility, biodiversity and modern living in a calm, timeless landscape. 🌿💧

A garden transformed into three beautiful, usable spaces 🌿✨

This Blackheath garden in South East London came with a significant level change — and a new extension that needed to connect seamlessly to the outdoors 🏡

By carefully digging out and lowering the terrace, a generous outdoor dining space directly linked to the house, with steps leading up to the main garden beyond.

The design now unfolds across three distinct areas:
– a sunken dining terrace 🍽️
– a relaxed seating space 🪑
– and a soft, layered planting scheme around the lawn 🌸

The result is a garden that feels calm, connected, and easy to live in year-round.

Sunny Sunday morning garden snaps, greenhouse full of seedlings 🌱, dahlias 🌸, chrysanthemum, , tulips 🌷, yellow erysimum 🌼, crab apple tree in flower🍎, pond full of newts & frogspawn 🐟, and Rosa ‘Bengal Crimson’ flowering almost continuously 🌹

A bit of everything going on — early colour, things coming through, and plenty still to do 🌿

Site visit – Blackheath garden 🌿

I popped back to this Blackheath garden I designed and landscaped 10 years ago — and it’s still looking incredible. Mature, full of texture, and thriving 🌾🌸

Last year, the clients undertook a major building project, but the builders were fantastic and took real care around the planting. After the works, we refreshed a few areas, and everything has settled in beautifully.

This visit was just to check on the planting and see if anything needs a little tweaking — so satisfying to see a garden age gracefully and still feel so cohesive 💚

This beautiful, mature garden has been nurtured for over 30 years—many of the plants grown from seed or cuttings, including all the box topiary!

Now, my client wanted a new challenge: a master plan for a lower-maintenance garden he could build at his own pace.

So rewarding to see the vision starting to take shape ✨🌱

Design for a cute little courtyard in , landscaping will start next month. Curved design with vibrant flowerbed close to the house will completely transform the space. Using just 2 landscaping materials, large format grey paving and paths/detail clay pavers

Site visit this morning to checkup on this riverside garden in west London, pots/planters and furniture will be added in over the next few months. Lots of rusty steel to complement the new and the industrial vibe of the area and the existing buildings. Gorgous plants from to soften the new landscaping

I’m really pleased to see this garden in nearing completion… almost ready for planting. Swipe for before photos. Landscaping was done by the house builder and I haven’t seen it at all while it was being built, it was so lovely to visit on wed and see how well the builder had interpreted my design… few bits and pieces to finish off before planting. So much more useable space now in the garden, it will be much easier to maintain.
