This is a story about common values.

started in 2009 from a small Los Angeles storefront, reselling retailored vintage clothing. From there, they built an entire brand around a single mission: that fashion doesn't need to begin with something new. Today, their goal is to source 100% of their fabrics from deadstock, recycled, and next-generation materials by 2030.

When we designed their Covent Garden flagship store inside a Listed Building along King Street, we found ourselves working from the same starting point. Rather than a constraint to work around, the existing heritage structure became the material we had to work with. We preserved details and retained proportions. New interventions were introduced not to detract from the existing space but to enhance its existing character.

Different disciplines, common values.

Contemporary solutions to upgrade existing buildings.

Glazing technology has evolved, creating new possibilities with thinner frames, better thermal performance, and smarter glass.
Used externally, it transforms dark or underused spaces into light-filled rooms that feel connected to the outside. The use of glass partitions internally creates dedicated zones, such as meeting rooms, offices, and quiet areas, without ever breaking the visual continuity of the whole space.
Glass unlocks the potential in existing buildings to be upgraded for contemporary everyday life.

Coleherne Court is one of London's most distinguished residential addresses, once home to iconic figures such as Lady Diana and Boris Becker. Located in Kensington Conservation Area, it includes 213 apartments.

We were commissioned with the repositioning of two apartments. The intervention worked on two levels simultaneously: changing the layout to meet contemporary living standards, improving the actual value through spatial reconfiguration, and the perceived value through bespoke, high-quality finishes, such as chevron parquet and Graham & Brown wall coverings.

Form follows culture: culture evolves, buildings need to be adapted.

Spaces for people.

London’s greatest architectural resource is the buildings that already stand.

At Guarnieri Architects, we do not only ask how a space can be improved — we ask who will live in it and who will use it next.

The greatest opportunity in our metropolitan area is the adaptation of existing buildings to contemporary standards of living. The challenge is not simply to preserve historic structures, but to transform them — turning the constraints of the past into the space of the future.

Form follows culture.

Our society is increasingly focused on well-being. The relationship between indoor and outdoor has evolved since Victorian times and requires new and appropriate solutions.

The smooth transition between indoor and outdoor spaces is achieved through innovative detailing, creating level thresholds for improved access and visual connection, enhancing everyday life.

Flexibility is built into our projects. We design spaces that adapt to different uses and evolving needs.
Technical solutions allow interiors to become dynamic, reconfigurable, and efficient.

At the SOG archives, movable shelving maximises storage capacity, making the most of the space while ensuring easy access and workflow efficiency.

In our latest residential project on Page Street, the sliding feature wall opens to connect the living space or can be closed to provide privacy for a home office/guest room.

Movable walls at Eurocentres Eltham support different classroom arrangements, ranging from lectures to exams.

Adaptive Reuse

Our work in London often involves existing buildings. These projects can be complex and costly, with limited freedom to relocate structure and services.

We’ve learned that a simple approach is often the most effective: keep the intervention below the ceiling.

By working with what’s already there, we can preserve historic features or reuse existing services, reducing waste and making better use of the budget.

Season's Greetings

This year's Christmas card, Christmas Horizon, marks the 250th anniversary of the birth of William Turner, the English Romantic painter, printmaker, and watercolourist renowned for his expressive use of colour and his imaginative landscapes and marine paintings.

The card represents an imaginative landscape in which land, sea, and sky dissolve into one another, leaving the horizon as the only point of reference. Christmas trees appear like sailboats, drifting quietly across the sea.

We believe the most meaningful spaces begin with a story.

Narrative is more than inspiration; it’s a design tool that gives a project purpose and identity.

Like in our Lexham Gardens project, where the transformation of a Victorian building into bespoke hotel apartments, in Kensington’s Conservation Area, was guided by British heritage and storytelling, shaping every detail.
The design’s concept has been developed through the power of the narrative, following three themes: Racing Green, Royalty Red, and Equestrian style.
