This has been a cracking year for figs to ripen. Something that can be tricky without prolonged warm weather. If you have a patch of sunny wall in the soil or even an old dustbin, figs will love it.

There’s space in a garden to not be too tidy. Leaving something that’s happening naturally like a plant growing from a crack in an old wall will let your garden come alive.
