Veiled Impressions. The second design in our collection with Isabel Marina.

Forms emerge and recede beneath layered washes of deep blue, soft ivory and silvery grey. Some marks are sharply defined; others seem partially erased, preserving fragments of something once seen.

Hand-knotted in Nepal using Tibetan wool and Chinese silk, the rug brings the subtle variations of Isabel’s original painting into depth and texture.

The first design we’re sharing from our new collection with Isabel Marina: Uncertain Geometry.

Isabel describes the original painting as an exploration of the tension between structure and intuition. Areas of ochre, ivory and muted taupe suggest an architectural order, while deep charcoal and earthy brown forms interrupt the softer ground. Edges dissolve, proportions shift and painterly marks move across the composition, creating a design that feels both constructed and spontaneous.

The rug’s hand-knotted surface brings depth and subtle variation to each layer, allowing geometry to remain imperfect rather than precisely defined. Bold yet beautifully balanced, Uncertain Geometry has a quiet and moody complexity that continues to reveal itself over time.

At an early preview of the collection at High Point, the show where Bonnie and Isabel first met a year earlier, visitors sought them out simply to say how much this piece had moved them.

A simple grid, considered through material.

Our Checkerboard reduces one of the simplest geometric structures to texture and light. Available in a range of qualities and colourways, each interpretation allows the character of the fibre and the way it is woven to shape the expression of the pattern.

In this charcoal edition, the checkerboard is handwoven in 100% Wild Matka silk. Its subtle lustre and natural variation give the dark charcoal palette an unusual depth, while the handwoven surface brings a quiet sense of movement to the geometry.

From a distance, the structure is clear; closer in, it becomes an exploration of fibre, texture and craft.

Its considered scale also makes Checkerboard particularly versatile within an interior, bringing a quiet layer of pattern that can sit comfortably alongside other materials, textures and designs.

Fine-spun fibres, woven with precision.

Our Nettle Cactus Stripe brings together two distinctive natural materials from the Textures Collection: organic, undyed Himalayan nettle and cactus fibre. Handwoven in Nepal, the rug combines tonal shades with an asymmetrical stripe, allowing the subtle variation and character of each fibre to become part of the design.

Cactus fibre is derived from crushed and soaked cactus leaves, which are transformed into yarn and spun by hand before being woven. Nettle, long used in Himalayan textile traditions, brings its own natural variation and an understated, tactile quality.

Together, these fibres create a finely detailed flatweave where texture, tone and material take precedence over ornament.

As with our wider Collection, bespoke sizes and colourways are available upon request.

A more tactile interpretation of the flatweave, our Chunky Sumac brings texture and structure to the surface through its distinctive construction.

Made from 100% undyed wool, it is one of the most enduring and popular qualities within the Knots Rugs Textures Collection. Rather than the tightly interlocked construction of a traditional kilim, sumac is created by wrapping the weft around the warp, creating a raised, denser surface with a soft sense of depth.

In Chunky Sumac, the scale of the yarn amplifies this character. The undyed wool brings an honest, natural quality to the rug, while the chunky construction gives the surface a pronounced tactility and a quietly architectural presence.

It is a reminder of the philosophy behind the Textures Collection: when material, fibre and construction are allowed to lead, texture becomes the design.

Rooted in one of the oldest textile traditions, Sumac brings a tactile dimension to the flatweave tradition.

Our Sumac Kilim is handwoven in Nepal from 100% natural yak wool. Drawn from the coat hair of yaks native to the Himalayan region, yak wool has been used by nomadic communities for centuries to create clothing, tents, ropes and blankets. Naturally warm and soft, the fibre also has inherent odour-resistant, antimicrobial and sound-absorbing qualities.

The character of the yarn is central to the rug. Its natural variation and understated texture give Sumac Kilim a quiet depth, allowing the material itself to take precedence over pattern or ornament.

As with the wider Textures Collection, it is an exploration of what can be created when natural fibre, traditional craft and considered construction come together.

Drawing inspiration from a handwoven fabric with delicate scalloped edges. Tessuto is a celebration of texture, tactility, and traditional craftsmanship. The rug’s name, italian for fabric reflects its origin story, where a textile artistry formed a rich, dimensional floor piece.

Hand-knotted in Nepal from two lines of wool alongside two lines of nettle and cactus, Tessuto brings together contrasting fibres to create its distinctive texture. The interplay of materials, combined with the scalloped contours and high-low pile, gives the surface a quiet sense of movement and depth.

It is a study in material and construction, where the character of each fibre becomes an integral part of the design.
