Designed to fit neatly into the eaves of this loft space, the stained oak shelving makes use of an otherwise tricky area. The cabinet combines open and closed storage with recessed cutout handles, finished with a strong polyurethane lacquer to protect the natural oak finish and keep the joinery durable for everyday use. Alongside it, a solid walnut slatted back panel and solid walnut desk with integrated drawers create a more settled workspace. A cabinet with solid walnut finger-pull details, finished in Farrow & Ball’s ‘Purbeck Stone’ with a veneered walnut interior, brings in a combination of hanging and drawer storage to keep essentials organised within the room.

Details that make everyday routines feel calmer, from storage that keeps essentials visible to finishes that add character. Each corner has its own purpose, helping the room feel thoughtful, comfortable, and easy to use.

A kitchen designed for time spent in it, filled with natural light and painted in Paint & Paper Library's 'Plaster Pink' and 'Green Sencha', creating a soft contrast that keeps the space feeling open and inviting. There is room to cook, space to gather, and a spot at the island that naturally becomes part of the day. Nearby, the pantry supports early starts, with coffee, toast, and essentials within easy reach, along with drawers for everyday items and shelves for everyday favourites. The utility room takes care of the everyday chores, with space for laundry to dry, muddy shoes from football practice to stay organised, and shelves keeping uniforms and essentials ready to grab on busy mornings.

This island settles into the centre of daily life, with the kettle on, the radio in the background, and someone reaching for a packet of Maltesers while dinner gets going. Designed to sit off the floor so it wouldn’t feel too heavy, it keeps the look light and minimalist while still giving the room a strong focal point. Natural marble worktops and solid stained oak pull-handle details add warmth and character while vegetables are chopped for a quick midweek curry, lunchboxes come together between meetings, and drawers are opened for the things used every day.

Working within a Grade II listed home, we carefully brought together the building’s historic exterior with a more modern way of living.

The client’s art collection shapes most of the layout and joinery, carried across every floor. On the ground floor, a Welsh dresser finished in Paint and Paper Library’s ‘Deep Green’ introduces a more traditional note to the kitchen-dining space, with shaker-style doors, cornice detailing, an antique silver mirror, glass shelving, and recessed LED lighting set into a stepped stone countertop.

Upstairs, spray-painted joinery with elegant handles continues through the bedrooms, alongside refinished floors and an integrated AC system. The guest bathroom pairs a basin with a mixer tap, a silver low-iron mirror, and a painted vanity with soft-close drawers, with lighting on either side.

A home where each room is shaped around how it’s used, while still feeling connected as a whole.
