With the publication of our Guide to JCT Standard Building Contract 2024, now all four of the series are available:
Guide to the JCT Standard Building Contract 2024,
Guide to the JCT Intermediate Building Contract 2024,
Guide to the JCT Minor Works Building Contract 2024, and
Guide to the JCT Design and Build Contract 2024.
We thank the team at RIBA Publishing for its excellent work, and The Joint Contracts Tribunal for its support.
Each of the four books include:
• explanation of provisions, procedures and conditions by subject,
• outline of duties and powers and addressing key contractual issues that may arise during a project supported by recent legislation and case law,
• discussion of the changes introduced in the 2024 editions of the contracts, such as sustainability, collaboration, response to legislation and case law, early notification of disputes, etc,
• case law updates on key topics, such as design liability, concurrent delay, practical completion and liquidated damages.
• comparison between JCT, NEC4 and RIBA Building Contracts, and
• new figures and tables.
In our forthcoming 7th edition of Which Contract? we’ll be discussing the changes introduced in the JCT 2024 editions as they apply to contracts across the JCT suite, as well as adding a section on the new JCT Target Cost Contract.
