🌿 Phormium Tenax 🍃

The stunning New Zealand Flax (Common name) loves a sunny spot in the garden and thrives when you do as I’ve done here, remove all dead, snapped or crossing leaves. This keeps it healthy and tidy!

One of my favourite plants in this Strawberry Hill garden. Plus, its nectar-rich flowers are a magnet for bees 🐝 and other pollinators.

Due to poor maintenance on this guy previously, and lack of dividing the grasses, this flax is a bit out of control, with roots being above the ground. Later on in spring I’ll divide these up and transplant them to other sunny spots in the garden.. who doesn’t love free plants!🌱

It’s been a crazy first summer as a business owner. I put so many hours in to working in the gardens, and meeting new clients. This has resulted in a real lack of admin, social’s and business education.

Hopefully during some rainy days, I’ll be able to catch up on the above jobs.. and will make a conscious effort to post more frequently.

My Crew,

Other than my burning passion for plants, gardens and anything to do with being outdoors, these two stunners are my reason for starting Palmyra Gardens.

Our little Jean gets the best care anybody in the world could offer her, having vick at home raising our girl is the only driving factor I need to be as hungry as I am to make something of this business.

If only I could trade all the happiness you two bring to me, in return of my time, life would be all the sweeter. But as we say every morning.. daddy's gotta go to work! 🌳
