’s sculptural house in East Dulwich has received planning approval from Southwark Council. This four storey, four bedroom home of 150m² maximises the use of a 90m² of brownfield former builders yard / car park.

The scheme packs in courtyard gardens, terraces, a home office, snug/gym and light-filled rooms across every level, all wrapped in warm grey handmade brickwork.

Sustainability is integrated throughout, including a biosolar green roof, air source heat pump and rainwater harvesting.

Greenaway Architecture had great few days at UKREiiF, which was an excellent opportunity to reconnect with many valued contacts across the property, planning, development and construction sectors, whilst also making exciting new connections.

The event is a reminder of the importance of bringing the professions and sectors together to discuss the future of our towns, cities and landscapes, and how thoughtful design can shape them.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to meet and chat — we look forward to continuing many of the conversations over the coming weeks.

A pleasure to meet RIBA President Chris Williamson this week, alongside RIBA South West, to discuss the challenges facing architects and the important work being undertaken by the Royal Institute of British Architects in response.

It was an insightful and constructive conversation covering the future of the profession, practice pressures, planning, procurement and the value of good design. Encouraging to see meaningful engagement on the issues affecting practices.

Thank you to everyone involved.

has published Greenaway Architecture’s planning consented Hidden House project in a Wimbledon conservation area.

‘Built in place of a dilapidated garage, this unique residence is wrapped around a sunken area, hiding it from view. The result is a cleverly concealed home that surprises with its modern design and clever use of space. With its subtle presence, Hidden House challenges traditional notions of residential architecture, creating a sense of intrigue.’

‘The project’s innovative approach to design and construction has resulted in a truly one-of-a-kind dwelling that is sure to fascinate. As a testament to the power of creative design, Hidden House is an inspiring example of what can be achieved when imagination and expertise come together.’

A contemporary gable-end extension to a country house situated on the edge of Minchinhampton Common within the a Cotswolds AONB.

Rather than replicate the existing house, the design introduces a contrasting yet complementary form—combining Cotswold stone, timber and zinc through precise, restrained detailing. The result restores compositional clarity while creating generous open-plan kitchen and dining spaces, alongside a new bedroom suite.

Carefully positioned openings frame views and strengthen the connection between interior and landscape.

A fabric-first approach with integrated solar technology enhances performance, while a fully accessible ground floor annex ensures long-term flexibility.
