Rain Garden Construction at Coppermill School Walthamstow

Originally designed by John Howlett for RHS Malvern 2005, where it received a Gold Medal, the Rain Garden has been relocated to Coppermill Primary School. Made possible by Flood Re and constructed by Acacia Gardens, the tranquil space now functions as a living classroom, helping pupils understand how sustainable garden design promotes biodiversity and climate resilience.

At Acacia Gardens, we pride ourselves on delivering complete garden builds with meticulous attention to detail. In Muswell Hill, we brought the garden designer’s plan to life by transforming a large, underused plot into a family-friendly garden that now feels both functional and welcoming. Acacia Gardens managed the entire garden construction from start to finish, coordinating hard and soft landscaping in-house. This project demonstrates how the right combination of hard and soft landscaping can create a garden that is both practical and enjoyable for years to come.

This front garden in Crouch End, North London N8, was designed by Emma Appleby and built by our expert landscaping team at Acacia Gardens to complement the rear garden renovation. The layout was carefully planned to accommodate a new lightwell, car parking space, and bin storage without compromising on style. The design adds structure and greenery to the property’s approach, creating a smart, inviting first impression and a cohesive outlook from indoors and out.https://acacia-gardens.co.uk/portfolio/complete-rear-and-front-garden-redesign-in-crouch-end Photographs by Anna Omiotek-Tott
